    Default Incredible Hulk #425

Ya member this story...Awsome cover...This was during the time I was buyin Hulk books. I thought the story was straight but I wish the threat was a little more than mindless zombies....Was it really that bad...(Well I geuss the stress got to ol green skin) And I had though aggamedon was tougher than that but oh well....

    Questions:
How did the Pantheon ended and did it dissolved quickly after this issue? Do any members still show up around Marvel?
What was that girl wit the blue hair power? Ajax was basically some guy in a big armor rite? And why is it that Banner made that one guy vulunerable?
Oh and how did the Pantheon begin (where they as popular as Inhumans beforehand? I doubt it cause I prob would have known them...) and how did Ol Green Skin git mix up wit them.....

    Man I miss Betty.....
    :o

    Default Here's what I recall...

Sorry, but the only thing I can remember about 425 is that it was Gary Frank's last work on the title and Liam Sharp helped out on the art too.

Some of the members did show up a few years after that book. I vaguely remember one story involved somebody bumping into Ajax at one of the Pantheon's safehouses scattered around the world.

The Pantheon got their start right there in Hulk. An unknown-at-the-time Prometheus followed him around observing his every move month after month until they all finally approached him with their cause. They gassed him and took him to their hq located inside a desert mesa called the Mount. This happened right after the Ringmaster merged all 3 Hulk personas into 1.

The Pantheon were the offspring of an immortal who was also the group's leader. Their whole personnel base was made up of various nationalities of oppressed peoples from countries they'd either liberated or were currently aiding.

    Hope that helps.
    Nick Fury's to-do list:

    1) Save the world.
    2) Punch Norman in the face.
    3) Have a beer.

Hulk made that one guy vulnerable because his one weakness was gamma radiation.

The Hulk Library is a good site to get issue synopsis. However they have some stringent account access requirements. If you're that big a Hulk fan it may be worth your time, though.

Here's pretty much what happened in the rest of PAD's run. Keep in mind it's been a while since I read the issues, but here goes:

-Betty is badly injured and the Merged Hulk has become "Savage Banner". However thanks to Ocassional Hulk villain Mercy, Betty is saved and Bruce becomes the Merged Hulk again. He goes 'underground' with Betty in Florida for a few months, fighting a few villains here and there (With the new 'weakness' of turning back into Savage Banner), but then in The Ghosts Of The Future storyline, the Hulk personality becomes unstable (Shrapnel gets stuck in his head when he becomes Savage Banner and remains when he becomes the Merged Hulk) and he ends up (almost) becoming the Maestro.

There's also a Hulk novel set around this period by Peter David, called "What Savage Beast". However it's up to the reader to accept whether's it's canon or an alternate timeline.

Hulk is again presumed dead for a while, but he resurfaces during Onslaught. However during Onslaught Banner is ripped from the Hulk and becomes stuck in the Heroes Reborn Universe, where he becomes another Hulk. Meanwhile the Hulk in 616 becomes "The Grayvage" Hulk. Eventually after a series of adventures Hulk is recombined with Banner and almost gets pardoned again, but then Betty dies (Apparentally from being around Hulk's gamma-irradiated body for so long, but later it's revealed Abomination is at least partially responsible).

    Cool

I remember that ish cuz of the cardstock cover and hologram, the dark and slighty odd artwork, the Endless Knights comin' outta the woodwork (though not really as epic in scope as it could have been), Paris (or whatever his name is) kickin' Banners' arse--after I think shooting off his weapon which richocheted and struck Betty, and thus triggering the failsafe planted in the Proff's mind (in which he uttered one of my fave Hulk lines in, "Accident? Accident?! ACCIDENT?!")--turning him into Savage Banner.

I think (if it hasn't happened already) the Pantheon is supposed to show up in the pages of Incredible Hercules.

I wonder with the Hulk currently 'depowered' we'll see Savage Banner again. After all, the Hulk is partially a mental thing, and the Hulk personalities probably still exist in Banner's mind.
