JLU Action Figures!

....and I'm now just noticing that a lot of these JLU figures have different leg molds than the usuals.

Clock King, Harley Quinn, Huntress, all at a wide stance....interesting that it's only a certain amount, while most others are still using the usual "close together" molds.

Someone told me that the Charlton characters are, unfortunately, not eligible for figures under the liscencing deal. That would mean no Question, no Captain Atom, no Blue Beetle. Anyone know if this is true or not? I'm gonna be really sad if it is...

I saw a gorgeous Animal Man custom on ebay last week, which whetted my appitite and has shot him to the top of my list. I love that they've made so many obscure characters, even if they've felt the need to package them with the same characters over and over. My favorites: Hawk and Dove!

I saw a Question in a three pack and some solo Captain Atoms. I gave Super girl, Stargirl, Red Rocket and Metamorpho to my newphew and niece for xmass.

There was always some problem with Blue Beetle and the JL universe. He was never on the show and, as a result, we'll never see a figure.

Yet the Jaime Reyes Beetle was in the 1st episode of Brave & the Bold, so the name on TV is ok. And we have normal DC figures of BB, so it's not a toy problem.

Perhaps it's all an image issue with the Ted Kord Beetle?

He might end up being made for the JLU figure series. They're making figures that weren't on the show, first ones announced so far are Ultraman & Superwoman. Also Plasticman, who was mentioned in the show once (By Elongated Man in the Booster Gold episode), but didn't truly have an appearance.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Blue Beetle appeared early on in the JLU comic.

Plastic Man never made it into the DCAU comics, but Eel O'Brien made a couple appearances as an informer and snitch for Batman in the final volume of Batman Adventures. This was a really cool idea that I wish had made it into the show.






Check out the Batman animated comics some time. They're really great.

About the Charlton characters, I had heard the same thing about them not being able to be released but something must have changed because I was at a local Target and among the newly released 3 packs is a set with a Captain Atom figure and set with a figure of the Question. Maybe someday we may get that Blue Beetle after all. I also saw a 6 pack with Commander Steel, Vibe, Crimson Fox, Deadman, B'Wana Beast, and Superman. I am really enjoying getting to see some of the lesser known characters of the DCAU as action figures.

So with all the new & forthcoming figures being announced at Comic-Con '09 last week (Doom Patrol! Shazam Family! JUSTICE GUILD!!), I'm still seeing the same old product at my local TARGET stores.
