I wonder why politics are discussed so often on a comics board.

I know that politics matter... there isn't a single day I don't think about offing Tony Blair with an Anti-Tank Gun but comics are more important.

Unless the dollar gets too strong and puts up the price of comics in the UK.

Or if the US puts trade embargos in place against exports to the EU nations because the price of cheese puffs is too low in Belgium.

Or...

I believe politics are discussed hear because this board (and Permanent Damage) aren't limited to just comics (I like the threads on food, movies, television shows and games), and because people with multiple interests will tend to touch on more than one in an ongoing conversation.

I like the political threads, though too many (or one mega one) can be distracting.

If this board was reduced to Action Comics, Birds of Prey and Villains United threads, it would be a great loss.
