Which characters do you feel were ruined by being 'reimagined,' or retconned?
And why?

Hawkman. Powergirl. Wolverine.
Yeah, but with Wolverine it comes every few years, so readers should be used to it by now.Originally Posted by EmperorCrowley

Hopefully, this JSA Classified series will solidfy it, at least for a while. One of the main reasons that I could never take PG seriously were all her retcons. I am enjoying the JSA Classified retcon, so far.Originally Posted by Gaz
Donna Troy. I didn't like the whole doppleganger of Wonder Woman, Dark Angel thing.
Yeah and plus, it kind of tainted my love of Marv Wolfman's "Who Is Donna Troy" story in Teen Titans #43. I mean, I still love it, but this piling up of retcons and the like for Donna seem so much overkill.Originally Posted by hellokittykat

under it's own weight when Donna Troy and Hawkman tell each other their origins.
Also: didn't like the 'Yellow fear monster made me do it' thing in Green Lantern.
I normally Mark Waid is one of my favorites, but I would say Birthright. You will rarely hear me say this but Byrne's version was better.
Yeah, the Yellow Fear Monster came off as a cop out.Originally Posted by Paragon Kobold

The Sins Past arc in Amazing Spider-Man. What JMS did to Gwen Stacy was horrible.
Also I am not feeling this Winter Soldier Arc of Captain America.
The real Jean Gray not being Phoenix.
The Identity Crisis retcons: the rape and the mindwipe of Batman.
Donna Troy.
Batman 'firing' Dick Grayson as Robin, post-crisis.
Corrina Lawson: Writer, Mom, Geek & Superhero.
Phoenix Rising, a superhero adventure, coming in November.
Jason Todd.
Pre-crisis, Jason was a mature, capable, confident kid. Post-crisis he was a snotty jerk I couldn't wait for them to get rid of. Plus the story that reintroduced him was the worst, most contrived piece of near-plagiarism imaginable.
Which story did it plagiarize?Originally Posted by MacQuarrie
