Default Poll: Frank Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Back and All Star Batman & Robin...

I'm curious as to how many people who enjoyed Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Back are also enjoying his All Star Batman & Robin? Feel free to present your reasons why...or not.

I enjoyed a lot of Dark Knight Strikes Back, but did think it got a little sloppy near the end. Whereas with All Star Batman & Robin, I was repelled by the first issue but have changed my mind after reading the second...

    I hated DKSA, whereas I'm loving All-star.

I don't like the retconning of Dick Grayson's origin. Batman seemed like a dick (then again what's new) for forcing Dick to become Robin immediately after his parents death. Bastard. :evilangry

I like Dark Knight Strikes Again despite it's flaws and I like All Star Batman because of it's flaws.

Either way both are the most interesting comics Batman in years.

Didn't like either, but I liked DKR and Year 1.

I have no hate for Miller's work, but I think he has lost sight of Batman lately.

How can you retcon something that isn't in continuity? :p

    I loved AS B&R #2. #1 was ok.

I voted for liking them both, but the fact of the matter is I don't remember DKSB very well. I just remember there was nothing I particularly hated about it.

AS B&R two was quite good. First issue was a slow intro, but the series is definately starting to pick up pace.

I still think DK2 is an artistic masterpiece that will go down with the ages as goddam brilliant. It's a superhero highball, a pure injection of the genre.

I loathed the first ASBaRtBW as pin up crap. The second issue confused the hell out of me. I can't tell if I love it or hate it. That's interesting enough to keep on board, even with dull Lee art.

I don't like either, too. Frank Miller struck gold with the dark knight returns, but ever since then, he has outlived his welcome in batman land. Time to move on, Frank.

I dig both DK books. It's too early to tell with ASB&R, Miller's work doesn't really translate in short form. It's already something new which is usually a good thing in this medium.

You and others may think so, but DC keeps going back to him for a reason. Right?

Only read the first 2 parts of DKSA, but I didn't dislike it. After issue 2 I love ASB&R. The direction that Miller seems to have it set to go in has me interested.
