It was 1:34 in the ayem and I'd been working on my comics proposal since I got home at five. I needed a little break, and with the HB film playing behind me, I was inspired to draw this little fifteen minute ditty. I haven't used a brush and markers in a very, very long time...and it shows. Jeff Smith with a brush I am not...:p
Oh well. It is what is and I'd figured I'd share anyways.
I get that all the time, Jakob, haha! I'll post on some boards and I'll get "Are you THE J. Scott?" Maybe I should just go by "Scott" or at least add my last name :D ...I can see all these folks going, "Oooo-a Campbell Hellboy?! I gotta check it out!
More doodling...just to warm up before getting to work. Watching the BoSox game this morning, a thought of young Hellboy playing some ball popped into my head and inspired this quickie. Man, 1940's baseball mitts are a pain to draw.
Just imagine what kind of slider you could throw with the Right Hand of Doom... :D
J. Scott, your drawing are both great but I really like the baseball drawing. Now that you've posted these images can we see more of your work? It doesn't even have to be Hellboy related (But more HB would be awesome). More please. :)
Folks...you are much too kind! :D I certainly appreciate it, very much. It boosts the confidence and I need it. When I'm throwing my desk about the room, my wife always yells at me about my lack of it. :o
Here's a little ditty from an OGN I'm working on, part of a proposal I sending to an editor. I hope Lady J. doesn't get too mad at me for straying from the Hellboy path...
