Spider-Man, the Hulk and Captain America
Spider-Man, Captain America and Wolverine (I'm not joking)
Spider-Man, The X-Men, The Hulk.
I mean come on, everyone has heard of them.
i Agree. You can put all of the X-men is one bunch.Originally Posted by Uncensored
I voted for Spidey, Wolvie, and Captain America but really my real pick would have to be Spider-man, X-men (as a group), and Captain America. I think these really the most iconic groups that have come out of Marvel. You might be able to put Hulk in this group as well.
How many times in movies or at times during life have you heard someone refer either jokingly or seriously to some as "Captain America". In either telling them how they are acting, to stop acting like him or just the name coming up at times. I'm not sure how this reflects outside the USA but I've come across this a lot and seen it a lot in the USA. He could just be that big and/or recognizable in the US and not outside of it. So really he might not be known for actual title series or movies but the character is known very well I feel.
I haven't come across anyone that doesn't know at least something about Spider-man or know what he looks like. Either from reading the comic at one point, seeing the cartoon, dressed up as him or seen someone dressed up as him, etc growing up. Same for the X-men. People might not know all of them or their names but if you suggest certain things or ask them about they will respond with certain answers. Certain character and certain powers are just recognizeable and the word X-men comes to mind at times.
I like the idea of DC's big three. Batman, Superman, and Wonderwoman. I know why Batman and Superman were picked. I've always felt that Wonderwoman got the push and spot because they really needed to appeal to the female readers and she was on the level of Superman in terms of power. Batman because got it because he is just so badass and it's cool to see all the gadgets he has and he has pretty interestin villans. Who doesn't like the masked figure with the cape and the batsignal was cool. Superman..... well he's Superman. I think with WW, if there any been any other female character that was just as powerful and also half naked, she'd likely 0have gotten the push. In fact if any other character had looked the way WW did and WW wasn't around they'd have gotten the push. I don't really see it for story reasons or because she was that cool of a hero.
Yeah, like it or not, Marvel's big three are Spider-man, Captain America, and Wolverine.
More people know Hulk than Wolverine.
"if you ever disagree it means that you are wrong."
More people buy Wolverine than Hulk.
Spider-Man, Hulk and Wolverine if we're going off how many people know them.Originally Posted by Alan2099

the third is tough but Captain America is my choice.
Namor, The Original Human Torch and Captain America is the big three of the old days.
Hyperion, Nighthawk, and Power Princess respectively. ;)Originally Posted by acagle7
Big three in terms of popularity/importance? Spider-Man, Wolverine, and someone else. Who that might be, I don't know, but I don't think it's Cap. Maybe Hulk.
If you're talking about important Marvel Universe figures, then I'd go for Cap, Thor and Iron Man. They're the core of the Avengers, just as DC's Big Three are the core of the Justice League. And the Avengers are supposed to be the core of the Marvel Universe, just as the League are the core of the DCU.
