I think he is the worst artist in comics, he absolutely ruined the Wolverine run, I think Marvel should fire him.

His art is what I'd like to call an Acquired taste. The more you are exposed to it, the more you begin to tolerate it. I like his art. But only on certain things.
Nope. I can't imagine Marvel without him. I'm really looking forward to his work on the new SENTRY title.

I really liked his Peter Parker: Spider-Man (vol. 1) run in the 90's.
I'm with you on this one. I think his art is awful and blocky but I know people who think hes the best artist ever. I don't see it...Originally Posted by TEMPUS

God forbid that somebody should have an opinion that differs from yours. There is no good thing or bad thing. EVERYthing is SOMEBODY'S favorite. Don't say his art sucks. Obviously, it doesn't, or he wouldn't have a career. Just say you don't like his art, and be done with it.
JRJr is one of those artists that understands the comic medium better then most, his work is Cartoony but with a twist of grit, just like all comic art should be. This era of "realism" is really making comic art suffer on the whole, espesily at Marvel right now.

Same here. I think JRJr is great, and while I too look forward to his work on Sentry, I find myself hoping that someday before he retires he'll go back and work on a Spidey book again.Originally Posted by Expletive Deleted
When I read some German X-Men reprints when I was like 14 I absolutely hated him (and his inker Dan Green).
But when he was on Spider-Man I started to accept him (he was perfect for Jimmy-Six though).
Then... came Dan Jurgens' Thor - and I started to LOVE his style. He was perfect for the musclebound Asgardians.
Then he got a new colorist on Amazing and I started to love that work, too. He drew one of the cutest MJs of all time.
Now he ranks somewhere on my personal top 10. But even for him I wouldn't and won't continue to buy Black Panther. I wanted to pass on the Sentry, too (but after NA #7 I'm not so sure anymore and maybe I'll add it to my pull list).

I agree that it is an acquired taste, but I still dig it. Now Jae Lee on the other hand...
