Xavier of Magneto, who's side are you on?

Lets say that one day you wake up in the Marvel Universe. As a mutant. You're not a world class power, but you're not a weakling either. Currently the world is in an uproar, hatred of mutants is at an all time high, and the US government is about to vote on the Mutant Registration Act. If it passes, many other countries will likely follow suite.

Which side would you choose, Professor Xavier and his "Mutants and humans can all live together peacefully" ideals, or Magneto and his "Humans will always hate and fear us, and it is just a matter of time before they try and destroy us, so we must act first"? Do you join the X-men, or the Brotherhood?

I'd probably believe in Xaviers dream and start out as an X Man, but get fed up at seeing my people being killed and shift gears, then switch lanes and go for Magnetos world. Looking at the worlds history, Magnetos way is probably the way for surival of mutants.

I don't see africa at perfect peace and racism still exists. World peace, brotherly acceptance, equality for all... they are wonderful ideals, I wish they were true, that's how things SHOULD be, but sadly, they aren't.

The you have 9/11, Beslan and the palestine fighting Israel for how long? Terrorism, Iraq, geopolitical interests more important than people..... better, but not better... who knows. So far, true acceptance in between two different groups of humans never happened.

No they ain't. Africa is in the same position it was 20 years ago. You can throw all the money in the world at Africa but the fundemental problems for before my time still plague Africa. When you here that a King in Africa is living a lavish lifestyle while his people are dying from AIDS/ HIV, it makes you think.
And racism still exists all over the shop. Why do you think that certain world leaders have NEVER apoligised for slavery.
The world has a bloody history, and in comics I can't see another mutant holocaust not taking place

Except that, while prejudice and xenophobia may be inalienable parts of human nature, the divisions aren't set in stone. To the contrary, they're dependent on power politics, cultural shifts, population movements, etc. etc. There's no reason that humans and mutants in particular need to be at each other's throats, when there are so many other potential reasons to hate another group of people.

Especially since the human race is only five generations away from extinction, anyway. I'm a lot more convinced that Xavier's methos can make that transition go smoothly than Magneto's. Not to mention that baldie is a lot less of a hypocrite.
