The new Terry Brooks book The Legacy of Shannara Book 1: The Wards of Faerie is due out in August 2012. It is set 100 years after the High Druids of Shannara trilogy. More info:

•Interior color artwork for the first time since publication of The Sword of Shannara
•A new two-page map of the Four Lands and beyond by Russ Charpentier
•Detailed schematics of Paranor

Pretty great, right? Terry and Del Rey are currently in discussions about the artist, cover art, the interior art, the schematics, and how best to bring The Wards of Faerie to you all. When we have more information, it will be posted here!

The new Sara Paretsky novel featuring V.I. Warshawski will be called Breakdown. It is due out January 3rd.

The Iris Johansen novel Bonnie is due out October 18th. It is the concluding book in a trilogy featuring forensic sculptor Eve Duncan. It follows Eve and Quinn.

British crime writer Reginald Hill (the Dalziel & Pascoe series) has died at 75 from cancer.

The next Michael Connelly novel featuring his character Harry Bosch will be called The Black Box. It is due out November 26th.


The next Gabriel Allon thriller by Daniel Silva is called The Fallen Angel. It is due out July 17th.


Iris Johansen has spun off CIA operative Catherine Ling into her own novel What Doesn't Kill You. It came out in hardcover on April 17th.
