The Robert Cray Band will release their first live CD Live From Across The Pond due September 12th on Nozzle Records/Vanguard Records.

Rhino Records will release the four disc box set What It Is! Funky Soul And Rare Grooves (1967-1977). The set celebrates the funk music genre with 91 tracks taken from the archives of Atlantic Records, Atco Records and Warner Bros. It will included classic tracks, rarities and unreleased material such as an alternate version of Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady."

Other artists appearing on the set include: Little Richard, Wilson Pickett, Curtis Mayfield, Earth Wind & Fire, Claudia Lennear, The Commodores, and Sly Stone (under the name 6IX).

The box set will retail for $65 and is due out October 3rd.
