Okay, was there a point to this show? Because if there was, I will freely and without embarassment admit that I missed it COMPLETELY.

Saw first episode tonight...and did some research on it. There are seven episodes and you are not supposed to get the point until around 3 or 4. From what I red, Lil' Slugger with the golden bat will have many more victims. The point of the series is learning about the connections between Lil Slugger's victims, and about Lil' Slugger's life.
Hard to say as of yet. One thing that I noticed is that the boy with the bat became more detailed as the rumors spread, so maybe he's like a living urban legend. There's certainly some Lain-esque collective unconscious stuff going on. Actually, at first I wondered if the episode was just going to be a self-contained weird little story like in Boogiepop Phantom... But from the appearance of the characters in the credits I guess not.
Anyways, I like mysterious shows like this, so I found it fascinating.
Let me tell you...I've seen the series in its entirety, and it's worth the wait and worth watching all of them. They get better and better. At first, I was in your posistion, but I'm so glad I watched all of them. The maker of Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress will not let you down, especially if you are a fan of these two.

This is a 13 episode tv series. The point will be made more clear as the series goes on. This is not a show to watch just once. A second viewing is needed to understand everything.
Oh, and this series just gets extremely disturbing as it continues. EXTREMELY disturbing.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

I thought the opening title sequences was one of the most unnerving things I've seen.
I was just about to ask if anyone else thought so.
Anyone else think Maromi's totally unnerving, too? I normally like cute, but wow, whenever I saw it, I felt a sudden wave of unfocused negative emotion that I can't really explain.
Anyway, I definitely can't wait to see where this is going.
Very...odd show. I'm not sure what I think of it yet, but I'll definitely be checking out the next episode.
Maromi manages to be both absolutely adorable and utterly terrifying. I want one, but it would probably kill me in my sleep. I'm so conflicted.Originally Posted by Alex Scott
I happen to love the soundtrack. Parts of it are industrial and hectic, and other parts especiallyl in later eps are touching and melodic.
What does everyone else think so far?
I'm diggin' it, but I'm irritated that the Japanese text isn't subtitled. There's at least 3 or 4 scenes in that first episodes that hinged on one's ability to read, and without that the best you can do is attempt to infer the meaning of the text from the events that are placed around them. Which is a flawed tactic at best.

That is a pain, especially when the dramatic "This is important!" music plays. It's like we're missing a good chunk of the episode.Originally Posted by Inkthinker

Although technically you can get permission to air things uncut after 1 Am on a cable network, a la Comedy Central's Secret Stash, but I've never seen CN do it before.

I was surprised too, but from what I've read on another forum that was just a slip-up and the word was muted during the 3:00 am airing. :(Originally Posted by Sean Whitmore
