ABC announced a double shot of country music news today.

After 30 years on CBS, the CMA awards will move to ABC in 2006. The new contract runs for 6 years.

In separate news, the network will air a Kenny Chesney concert special in November

Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks have become engaged.

Yep, that's exaclty what I meant. I have some friends who are much more into country music than I am, and that's they told me. Whether it's true or not, who knows and what's more, who really cares? Is the majority of the country music audience that uptight about sexuality?

I don't care about any performer's sexuality but knowing that it tends to appeal to a conservative leaning demographic and looking at the way the voting on gay marriage was going in many U.S. states, I'd hazard a yes.
