Karnak would actually be interesting, his power fits nicely with most lineups and he'd have entertaining friction with normal human team members like IM and Cap.

I think there are quite a few characters here who could make cool Avengers. Magma, Karnak, Smasher, Longshot, Shape, Puck... all would work.
Gonna vote for Magma though. I'm a sucker for the New Mutants. :)
