Default Top Ten '94-97 Spiderman Cartoon Villains

    My list is below.

    1. Kingpin: He was behind almost every major event or was a big part of it.

    2. Spider Carnage: One bad mofo.

    3. Green Goblin: This guy could have been number one if he had been used more.

    4. Dr. Octopus: He'll always be up there with the big boys.

    5. Venom: Now here's a tough villain.

    6. Hobgoblin: Sort of like Spidey's arch enemy next to the Kingpin.

    7. Carnage: A second Venom.

    8. Lizard: The monster of Spidey's foes.

    9. Mysterio: He was tough to beat.

    10. Dormammu: Yeah, he's Dr. Strange's greatest foe, but he was the base of Carnage, Venom returning, and Mary Jane almost dieing.

The animation didn't seem as impressive to me.

Hobgoblin was great, makes me wish he was used more today. Where is the old nut anyway? Hope he's not dead.

I know i am late to the party but it wouldn't be any good to create this topic again.

    1. Kingpin: He was behind almost every major event or was a big part of it.

    2. Green Goblin: He was in some of the best episodes and his voice was awesome!

    3. Venom: Great episodes he was even though it were only 5.

    4. Hobgoblin: Love his attidude in this series and his voice was great too.

    5. Mysterio: Gotta love the animated illusions.

    6. Scorpion: He got even some kind of depth when he just wanted to get out of this suit and marry his girlfriend.

    7. Vulture: His youth sucking attidude and motivation is the only good one for him and should have always stayed that way in the comics too.

    8. Dr.Octopus: Not the greatest incarnation of him but still good.

    9. Hydro Man: Way better than in the comics and pretty unique in his motivation.

    10. Carnage: He was kinda limited and had very few appeareances but i still liked those few.

Every character in this cartoon was great and had perfect voice acting. I use their voices in my head whenever I'm reading a Spider-Man comic. I can't imagine anyone else other than Neil Ross voicing Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin.
From now on we're poison to you Spider-Man. That's why we call ourselves... VENOM!!!

    Top 10? Fine.

    10) Mysterio, because an SFX background is surprisingly useful for villainy. And he was a lot smarter than a lot of people would have given him credit for.

    9) Hobgoblin, because he was wonderfully twisted in his way of doing things. Not enough to be a regular hitman, no, he wants his enemies to be scared s***less before they die! Heh, good one.

    8) Lizard, at least when he's intelligent and actively malicious instead of just being a wild animal on two legs.

    7) Venom, because he had a better set-up than in the comics. Still his fault his life got messed up, but he has closer ties to Spider-Man and Peter Parker now to make his anger somewhat understandable.

    6) Kraven, because his romance with Dr. Mariah Crawford made him rather surprisingly sympathetic even though he was also a crazed stalker half the time.

    5) Chameleon, because there's something about a guy who can literally disappear into the crowd because he can become anyone he wants. The silent assassin thing works very well, too.

    4) Green Goblin, Harry Osborn, because there's nothing like having to fight your own friend who's been driven insane because he thinks it's your fault the girl you both love is "dead." Plus, I can kind of empathize with his feelings of abandonment and aloneness.

    3) Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, because there's nothing quite like a demented psychopath who's tricking his slightly more benevolent alter ego into letting him kill everybody he hates. Not to mention what happened to the Osborn personality in the end, which made me feel kind of sad for him almost. Him going after Mary Jane just to make Spidey suffer was cold, however.

    2) Tombstone, because in defiance of the usual "street thug" stereotype, he's actually quite smart, cunning, and exceptionally vicious. Being sort-of-undead doesn't hurt his cause, either, and the ways in which he tries to ruin Robbie's life for not joining him on his path of vice are creatively cruel, or cruelly creative.

    1) Spider-Carnage, because when you get down to it, he's what Peter Parker, our Peter Parker, could have become. He's what happens when Spider-Man's had enough of being constantly spurned and abused by the very public he wants to protect, of being constantly jerked around by the cosmos, and just wants everyone to have a little taste of the pain they put him through. The result is frighteningly tragic, though, especially in how things ended up for him.
