I always liked Havok and Polaris because they were never used as much in the original X-men, and they were the more dynamically powered ones. Every time Claremont would make them guest star, I secretly wanted them to join the X-men full-time.

My most memorable Havok moment was when Alex, skulking about and spying on the X-men to find out what was going down during the Mutant Massacre, had a lot of thoughts on what he was doing, and it was a rare insight into his mmind, becauswe he was always relgated to a supporting role before that. And I loved how he thought about how he thought that his old black outfit was so skintight that it showed everything.

And then I started imagining everything.

    Ah, good times...

You know, I was thinking of starting a thread of a similar title, only about Jean of course, but then I'd just get hate mail.

But, to respond to the Havok love- I really do love him- A LOT. I mean he's one of the most babe-a-licious X-guys.

My favorite Havok memories are from Inferno... cuz he was always wearing that torn/loincloth/ speedo deal.

    He's a babe. :D

Hey I can dig on his personality too. Though he's wronged my dear Lorna a few times and that was not cool. I mean, Annie? I think he should plead temporary insanity. But, other than that I love him to pieces.

Liz, I need to warn you to be careful about the N***e A***e word. Flight gets a tad upset at the mentioning of this "person".

This is my favourite Havok website. I'm disappointed I didn't create it

Heeehh nice to see i aint alone to love this site . The wallpaper section isnt bad at all btw .

As for havok , i'm a big fan myself .I love every of his costumes and uniforms so far , and this is quite rare among x people . His powers are great , and i also like his personality .
I'm quite happy he was chosen to lead an X team , but sadly austen wronged him with the whole nurse Annie affair , and with the still going on Bobby/Lorna relationship .

Havok & Polaris help the X-Men battle Proteus in Uncanny X-Men #125-128 right before The Dark Phoenix Saga. You might also want to check out Marvel Team-Up #69-70 when Havok is kidnapped by the Living Pharoh who eventually becomes the Living Monolith. Spider-Man & Thor show up as well as Lorna Dane & Havok...

Havok first battles Cyclops in Uncanny X-Men #97. Havok & Polaris also appear in Uncanny X-Men #104-105.
I'm sadly ripping off DDM but i have to agree that those were among his finest moments .

i enjoyed the issue where scott and alex play handball, dont remember if it was an x-factor or x-men or what. i liked the meltdown issue (of x-factor, i think it was the 1st or 2nd one after AoA) where he couldnt control his mutation. i also enjoyed austen bringing him back, for better or worse.
    and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...

Havok is one of my favorite X-Men. I really enjoyed all the X-Men in Austraila issues because Alex was a promenent member of the team. I didn't collect as much X-Factor as I should have, it got pretty unreadable for me at some point. I collected Mutant X just because Havok was in there, but that too got unreadable for me. I was very happy when he was returned to this universe in Uncanny X-Men. I'm waiting for Peter Milligan to use him to his potential in X-Men now. I've got high hopes for Milligan's take on Rogue and Gambit as well.

Thanks for the responses! I was halfexpecting people to gatecrash this thread just for the sake of it

What does everyone think of Havok's relationship with Lorna and the current Iceman triangle in Milligan's X-Men? Do you think Havok & Polaris should be together or is there relationship more over than the Age of Apocalypse? Who would you like to see either with?

My thoughts? Bobby's been pining for Lorna since the 70s. He needs to move on. Lorna's all unstable now, so Alex and she should address their relationship once and for all, and move on as well. Lorna was never her own person - she was always saddled with being linked to someone else, whether it was Alex, or Magneto, or Sinister and Malice, and I think someone should do something about making her Not Just A Victim and a character in her own right. Peter David started something interesting, and Austen's sometimes homocidal Lorna may not be to my liking, but it's probably the most interesting she's been in years.

I haven't read many Claremont back issues so what issue does he make reference to Meltdown?
I'll have to check out which issue it was .... but it was an issue that was current with Meltdown at the time . Actually there was an issue where Wolvie says he's going on a road trip and Alex decides to go as well .... I think to get over Maddy , or his feelings for her .

Then there is mention made when they return ...Wolverine is still sporting the crazy big hair-points as he talks to Storm about the trip ....all the while washing mousse out of his hair .

It's funny ...... but the only costume of his I have EVER liked is probably his corniest ... the very 1st one .

Also .... I have the very 1st appearance of Alex ...I believe it's Uncanny 54 ....bought it for a DOLLAR at a swap meet and it is in VG-F condition !

ALex needs someone like Emma to shake up his world view. Lorna, like Jean, has been too attached to one person and I think needs to find someone else. Bobby must admit that he is pining over the death of Northstar, so he can heal....seriously Bobby needs to grow up and move on to someone more his speed,like......um who IS Bobby's speed??
