    Default OZ comic mania!

There seems to be a rash of new Oz comics out lately-

there's Dorothy, which is predominantly a photo-manip comic,

Dorothy's Journey to Oz, where she's a teen and ends up in oz w/ her mischeivous boyfriend, Toto...

Oz: the Manga, due out in June

and Oz: F5: due out in June.

Has anyone else besides me heard of these or read these? If so, what do you think?
Look out! It's my DeviantART page!

Im reading "Dorothy", so far the first issue had a couple of minor plot problems, but the second issue improved, so I'll continue to get it. I've also ordered "OZF5", I've seen some of the artist's stuff on Deviantart and it looks really good!

I'm getting OzF5. I'm always interested in Oz stories. Recommended reading is the Oz series from the 90's published by Caliber, that one was great. It had some 20 issues, a few mini's and a few one-shots/tie-ins.

i agree, this was a wonderful little series.

oddly, enough, i've also seen oz, porn, and all the others mentioned above. i think since dc's fables, people are getting interested in the fantasy book genre.

I haven't been especially interested in reading them, but I have also noticed the large rush of Oz-related comics in the last year or two. I think I remember a few more that weren't mentioned in this list, but can't recall the specifics.

    Curious phenomenon.

    Default And Lullaby to boot

Lullaby will also feature the land of Oz, as that is where the characters are headed in the first miniseries.

    :)

For those of you who mentioned the Caliber version, know that that series continued on to be published by Arrow Comics, as well as a short WONDERLAND miniseries and some other related books.

You can check it all out at www.arrowcomics.com

The Arrow stuff was published between 1997-2001, I believe.

Hmmm, strange I never heard of it, in '97 I was still very much into comics. But thanks for the info, I just might hunt these down.

I'm reading Dorothy. Not bad, but I'm on the fence because of the $5.00 price tag. I'm really hoping that they take it in a direction away from the normal Oz story. With the ending of book #2 I think I may be right. Luckily it only comes out bi-monthly/quarterly.

Lullaby:Wisdom Seeker...The second issue has to impress me more than the first one did. It seems more geared towards children, probably why it's billed as "All Ages" ;)

The Oz/Wonderland Chronicles...Dorothy and Alice as college students who have forgotten their roots, and must go back to their fantasy worlds. Sounds interesting enough to check out either the preview or the first issue.
