    Default Riddick

Because Steven said he was gonna watch Chronicles Of Riddick, I just thought I'd mention it's one of the worst films I've ever seen (worse than you made Sky Captain sound, though I haven't seen it).

This is the only film I've ever got up and gone out the front of the cinema for a smoke in.
(I ended up going back in because my friends wanted to get their monies worth, apparently watching all of the movie you aren't enjoying is how you do that).

Too many plot holes, not enough character.

I might have enjoyed it when I was a kid, but if I was a kid I would have been to young to have seen Pitch Black.
It's the sort of film that many seem to think comic books are like.
(there's a film review in a major paper in Sydney who often says comic books should try be like the more successful adapatations - more talk less action, thoug he normally says it about scenes that were taken straight from the comic).

It took less than ten minutes before my first "What the hell is going on" and it didn't get better after that.
Character arcs don't make sense, the plot doesn't make sense, the villains didn't make sense beyond being evil, and the one cool thing - the human sniffers - are largely inconsistent.

Then again, some tell me the film was redeemed for them by the line:
"It's been a long time since I smelt beautiful".

    for others it was:
"I'm gonna kill you with this tea-cup".

    Hope you enjoy it Steven.
    I'm not you.
    So you know I'm right.

It has a great ending though.

I also really liked the art direction.

    You liked the ending?

It was basically the end of Apocalypse Now and Conan The Barbarian, with out the lead walking away.
