Well you know, i would have Bullseye in my top 20 villains. He's awesome. One of the truly great monsters in all of comics.

I have to laugh at these accusations of characters being ripped off. Go back to all of your Greek, Norse and Roman mythology where there were jealous and capricious gods and their families. That's was Kirby's inspiration and I doubt if he would call Thanos a rip off since it all goes back to the same source material.

And Death is personified in the MU, much like Hela is in Norse mythology and so forth. There are many religions that have intangible concepts that we can't touch see or feel. Yet we "love" Jesus, or insert any religious figure of your choice. Thanos wants to please Death, much like in Bibilical times when the faithful would sacrifice a lamb and so forth to please God.

Well when ever there is a top ten list of villains Marvel always have the most villain in the top ten sure they are subjective but a lot of subjective people tends to favor Marvel villain. Name one DC villain that is as complex as Magneto hell Marvel itself don't have a villain as complex as Mags.

Ahhhh....not I see the true source of all the anger. The success of the Avengers movie is the burr under your saddle. Even though I don't read DC I've liked most of the Batman movies (under Tim Burton's or Chris Nolan's direction) and the Dark Knight is unquestionably a great movie. The Avengers movie has gotten critical praise also, even if it is a popcorn movie. But I have to admire the achievement of Marvel getting it all under one tent with the chance to expand even more. When comic book movies do well it pays tribute to the medium as a whole. Can't you just enjoy the fact the comic book movies have brought in millions of new fans?

I beg to differ on that....Doom was already complex while Magneto was just hanging around with the Toad. It's just that they choose to keep him a villain whereas Claremont was given free rein to develop Magneto....but not everyone at Marvel was on board with that at the time. A Byrne quote:

“I kinda wish the internet had been around. Or at least some major force that could have screamed. Why are you turning Magneto into a half-assed clone of Doctor Doom?” and cataloged each and every way in which this transformation violated the long standing continuity?"

LOL Not to start a feud or anything.

I get your point but Mags far surpassed Doom when it came to Marvel most complex villain. I love Doom don't get me wrong but the fact that Mag became such a complex character made for some of the best stories in the MU. As it been said what make Magneto one of if not the best villain is that on some level you can agree with what he is doing and this fact is proven. In how they evolved him far ahead of Doom in term of character development and in noway is Mags a lame substitute for Doom as any comic fan will tell you.

Whatever, I have a life, which is something I can't really say for some of these people.
It is your opinion there for let no one sway you from it.

But don't you think that has removed him out of the classification of "villain" though? Gillen has said on his blog right now Magneto is being used as the Greek chorus commenting on Cyclop's actions as leader. When was the last time he really was an outright villain? He'd been a part of the X-Men on and off for at least as far back as Claremont's run. Oh, you have the Morrison run but it got fixed with Xorneto. Sometimes he's just wallpaper in an X-Men story while the focus goes to Emma and Scott. Granted, his character has much more depth over the years but he's just one of the cast of X-Men now.

    Yeah, this is ancient.

Yes, DC villains blow up more stuff. That's because they kinda have to carry the story while the fact that DC characters don't have a perponderence of compelling internal drama. Generally, they have one or two vaguely portrayed setbacks that are functions of their powers and origins. So their *real* problems are that the world is literally about to be destroyed. Right now. Again. Contrast with, say, Cyclops. He's fighting an eternal, but his *real* problem is the split with Wolverine.

In short, DC villains have more devastating physical effects because the heroes can't be imperiled by more down to earth problems.

Hobgoblin (Roderick Kingsley), Scorpion, Blackheart,2nd Hangman, Shriek, Sym, Marvel has so many underrated super villains that should be used more and written better.

Because they are busy printing their own money in movie theaters across the globe. All the money counting leaves little time for villainy. I'm told the Joker and Lex Luthor pop by for money counting tournaments once in a while. They sit around and laugh at all the poor people posting comments about them in forums who could be doing things in the real world as opposed to obsessing over their fictional ones. You know? People like you and me? This is the chief pauper bowing out....

And then they have to contend with the crap Darksied, Joker, Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Parallax, Two-face, Ras al-ghul, Deathstroke, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Felix Faust, the Rot, and many others fling right back at them. We should start a new topic titled "Marvel vs DC: Villain Poop Wars!!".

The same can be said for Doom.
