Default Why are Marvel villains so lame!?

Okay..well they aren't really all that lame. But comparing to the recent events going on in the DC universe..its like the Marvel villain aren't really any threat. They don't seem to be scary...
I wanna see the Marvel villains do what the DC villains are doing...
group together...plot...act out for revenge...destroy the heroes' lives..
I know there have been some great stories involving Marvel villains and the ramifications they have had on some of the heroes..
but I just feel like the DC villains are more psychotic and are willing to do anything to get their point across.
Marvel villains...fight the heroes...capture a hero...about to unmask a hero..and the hero breaks free and wins..
DC villains fight the heroes...capture a hero..kills a hero!!!!!!!!!!! (Recent countdown events)..
I just wish the Marvel villains would become more threatening to the heroes of Marvel U.!!!!!!!!

    just my opinion

Hate it or Love it..the Underdog is on Top!

I frankly don't want marvel to do ANYTHING that resembles countdown.

I agree with you in that DC villians tend to be more thought out and more of a threat and greater in number.

If Marvel killed off the Kingpin, Magneto, Green Goblin, Dr. Doom and Red Skull— the heroes really should just call it day and leave the rest for the police. :)

That said, Marvel villians have better names I think... doesn't DC have a villian called called Captain Cold and Dr. Psycho? Dr. Light sounds like he should be a good guy. And they create the Injustice League? Jeez. Not that "Masters of Evil" and "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants" are any better.

Probably the reason DC villains seem better is because Batman has the greatest rogues galler ever. EVER. But, if you look at Superman, he doesn't have a rogues list deeper than say Spider-man. Wonder Woman's got Cheetah...uh, thats about it. Green Lanern has Sinestro and um.....

Now I don't read many DC books— but if I can't recall villians there really is no point. A lot of people who don't read Marvel know about Magneto, Green Goblin, Bullseye, Doc Ock, Venom, the Lizard, Sentinels, Red Skull and the like...

A good point. Have you read MK:SM yet? GG attack Spidey in a most phycotic way. I won't spoil it for you but I'll just say that two of Spidey's supporting characters nearly died or did die, I won't say which.

    DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

    Greatest villian ever...

But Spider-Man's got a great rogues gallery, although I wish someone other than Norman would do something every once in a while.

After reading Clone Saga and Sins Past, I believe Spider-Man's greatest enemies are writers and editors.

funny you mention lord, as a lot of people around here are complaining he was switched with sabretooth in countdown.

but keep dr. light and any like-minded types in DC, please.

marvel is obsessed with their major villains (doom, magneto, octopus, etc, juggernaut to a lesser extent) being conflicted or having at least some redeeming qualities. not saying that's a bad thing though.

but then again, you have the real psychos in omega red, sabretooth, norman osborn, carnage, red skull, and millar's hydra, to name a few.

    Jamie Braddock is pretty psycho.

And there have been many deths lately, funnily enough all at the hands of heroes and not villians (Wolverine and Elektra, Scarlet Witch) Although the mystery villian is Cap A is doing well.

But a villian does not have to be a psycho or kill to be threatening.

I agree. But not only because I'm a Batman fan. Personally I like Spider-mans villains too. But I just like villains that don't are a few cans short of a six pack... or six cans short.

When I think of Marvel I think of great villians and okay Hero's while DC has always been great Heros and mediocre Villians. I mean take out Batman's Rogue Gallery and what are you left with.... Lex Luther ...... and uh........

I mean Aquaman, Hawkman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonderwoman

great heros but name 5 real villians for each I couldn't do it.

You're getting Victor Creed mixed up with Graydon Creed. People think Max Lord is like Graydon Creed, Sabretooth and Mystique's biggoted son.

Flash has great villians easily a top 5 gallery.

But really most heroes (ouside of Bats, Flash and Spidey) have only a handful of real threats.

And I agree with the OP, recently DC has MADE its villians much more of a threat then Marvels. Deathstroke is beating ass all over (as he should he is kind of a evil Cap) and DR Light in the last issue of titans...wow. Then looking at Villians unlimited coming up...

At least Electro has been ramped up recently in MK Spidey and New Avenger (well until the last ish when he is beat with out a fight) but hell even Bullseye got every inch of crap beat out of him and Magento, in full Xornete glor, had his big head lopped off.
