I went to the comic book store on friday and picked up dark victory 1. I'll have to reread it. Is the rest of it worth getting or should i i get the TPB?

Is it ever?
I recommend starting with Long Halloween. Then moving on to Dark Victory, as it is sort of a sequal.
Both books are available in trade format, and are two of my favorite Batman tales. Highly recommended!
I really tend to like all Loeb/Sale books.
I picked this up two weeks ago as a local store had a big sale (it was 50% off).
I cannot even begin to talk about how much I loved this story. I may have even preferred it to Long Halloween (although, I'll go back and re-read the LH).
This was a total page turner.
One of the highlight was the characterization of Alfred.
The scene with Alfred speaking with Dick while flashing back to a young Bruce was heartbreaking.
Great, great stuff.

"I'll tell you right out--I'm a man who likes talking to a man who likes to talk"
i did see the Long Halloween in TPB at the comic book store but wasn't sure if i wanted it at that time...Iwas collecting NML and Knightfall at the time. I'll be sure to get them soon tho.
Long Halloween is slightly better than Dark Victory, in my opinion. I'd suggest reading both, in order, as mentioned above. Also, unless you can find the single issues for less than Amazon or a local retailer's copy of the trade, I'd say buy the trade - it's nice to have, and often less expensive.
so is $7.50 and isue too much? lol
How many TPBare there for Darkl Victory?
One TBP, and it currently costs $19.95 at comic shops.Originally Posted by Guts/Batman
definitely a great read! pick up the tpb, it's cheaper
same with long halloween
While I though The Long Halloween was a little better, you can't go wrong with Dark Victory.
I also like how Sale drew Dick as a kid compared to Bruce
"You might want to re-think about the yellow cape"
A space knight Rom, consume planets like Unicron
blasting photon bombs from the arm like Galvatron.
RZA --"Impossible"
I thought both books were quite well written and fantastically drawn. I think Tim Sale's art makes everyone think they are better stories than they really are - the same trick Johnny Depp pulled in Pirates of the Carribean.
$8 per issue? Yikes!
Heh - LH and DV were printed in trade form before the 6/trade phenomenon started.
Has anyone here read Dark Victory without having read Long Halloween?
P-Man "Does no one remember the NES? Flashing grey screens? Hmmm? Cartridges you had to blow so much that you expected there to be a fifty dollar bill on the nightstand in the morning?"
