Good going there. Am not familiar with the actors, but hope this'll be good, even though I'm not into Veronica Mars.

Seeing how many changes they seem to be making makes you wonder why they don't just make a wholly original property.
Currently reading She-Hulk, Deadpool, Swamp Thing, Ms. Marvel

Probation: Ghost Rider, Loki: LoA, Secret Avengers

Looking forward to All-New Ultimates, Flash Gordon and Doctor Mirage.

iZombie was one of the very few titles worth buying from DC in the last few years.

Why the hell are they using the name "iZombie" if they're not even going to bother adapting the source material in any way, shape or form?! Use a different f***ing name you a***oles! Maybe in the future, a REAL adaptation of Chris Roberson's and Mike Allred's EXCELLENT comic book series will blow viewers away!

Does this have anything to do with Jim Lee's influence if DC still has any control over the property? Seems to me the ability to tie up and trash the property would be Lee's Ultimate revenge for Robinson telling it like it is a few years ago.Why CW/WB of all companies?

I've wondered about this at times - I thought about it alot when the movie version of "Wanted" came out. Heck, I never even read the original "Wanted" but I knew how much they changed.

Now, I'm not talking about whether they should have made the changes, I'm talking about why they even bother to pay the licensing fees or whatever and use the title. Why not just call it something else, change all the names, and don't pay the comic book company anything?

All I can think of is this: these projects start out being shopped around as an adaptation of the comic. Everybody knows who the project has been marketed to. If the network comes out with a show takes the idea from the pitch but goes on to make another show just like it with all of the names changed and whatnot, they could still get sued. So I think since the basic idea came from the comic, they still have to pay the comic company.

Now, as for why they think they are smarter than the comics creators and feel free to make changes, when a particular set of characters and situations has already been proven to be successful, that just goes down to the creative egos involved.
The DC relaunch was successful and was executed in what was most likely the best way it could given restrictions we wouldn't know about. No, your idea wouldn't have worked. Now move on.

I don't get this. What are they trying to do here with this comic? I mean, iZombie already has enough potential by itself that it doesn't really need adding on any extra characters or sidestories to make it "better". What is CW even doing?

I might have to see this to see how this turns out.

    Now just wait...

I'm holding out hope that sometime during Season 1, Liv will encounter a certain "nonprofit support network for the undead". ;)
