    Default REVIEW: Justice League, #28

"Justice League" #28 introduces the Metal Men as Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis send Cyborg in search of backup to stem the sinister tsunami in this "Forever Evil" tie-in.

Loved this issue. If DC/WB ever wanted to think outside the box on their movies (like Marvel has with Guardians), the MM would be perfect, with this origin story a great start for a script.

Wow, Trinity war is going nowhere fast, is it?

We get Cyborg v2 and a (much younger than the 'real') Doc Magnus
talking in flashback about the Metal Men
who are now in Poke-ball form
    ...and that's it. Sjeez

I love the Metal Men. They're awonderfully goofy concept.
Please don't make them a 'serious' part of the New Doom-and-Gloom 52

I haven't bought Justice League since the end of "Throne of Atlantis". I came back for this one purely for The Metal Men. Absolutely loved it! Loved that Chemo was in it, too. I would love to see DC give them their own series.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with this issue. Other than the fact that suddenly the DCU seems to be expanding like crazy.

I'd never heard of the Metal Men before this. I wish I'd never have to hear of them again. This was a completely stupid issue and the whole concept is stupid even for comic books.

I've heard of them before...and never wanted to see them again. And now I just did.

And again, I hope to never see more. If they are a big part of the next issue or future issues...I'm out. Metal Men are extremely lame.

AI wanting to achieve humanity isn't a stupid comic book concept, and neither is the fact that they want to help people or that they have vivacious personalities?

The concept of AI is too stupid for comic books?

Okay. For a guy who joined this site in Dec 2005 and has more than 12,000 posts, you've SERIOUSLY never heard of the Metal Men before this issue?

Here's a little bit of catching up for you. Since you joined this site, the Metal Men have appeared

In "Infinite Crisis" #7 (cover date 6/2006), the "Villains United: Infinite Crisis Special" (cover date 6/2006), various issues of "52" (throughout 2006 and 2007), various issues of "Superman/Batman" (during 2007), the "Metal Men" (limited) series (beginning cover date 10/2007), "Brave and the Bold" #9 (cover date 2/2008), a couple of issues of "Final Crisis" (at the end of 2008), issues of "Trinity" (during 2009), their own feature in 2009's "Wednesday Comics" series, a backup feature in "Doom Patrol" (2009-2010) and in the "Justice League: Generation Lost" series (at the end of 2010).

Now. Would you care to explain how you could have possibly missed any of the Metal Men's appearances since your join date? Well, aside from willful ignorance.
