Um.....wow. I would never have guessed Jesse Eisenberg as Lex. He seems a bit too....youthful to play that role. But, hey, maybe they're going for a young pup Lex as opposed to the established businessman.

    Interesting.

Irons is a great choice for Alfred. I'm guessing that, since Batman is older, this version will be more snide, sarcastic conscious/voice of reason (a la Miller's DKR) than sage mentor/father figure (A la Nolan's movies). Irons is perfect for that.

Eisenberg I'm not so sure of. He projects a bit young, even if he and Superman are supposed to be contemporaries. When I try to imagine what he'd look like bald (something I never would have imagined myself doing 5 minutes ago) I keep seeing Michael Rosenbaum.

    Uh.

That's....weird but I really dig it.

A young, somewhat smarmy (Eisenberg's wheelhouse, let's face it) Lex Luthor is, if nothing else, very interesting.

Never would have guessed that one but neat. Great actor.

All these casting choices are certainly.... inspired. I'm curious about who is cast as Nightwing.

Irons as Alfred seems fairly safe in terms of casting.
Eisenberg as Lex is far more riskier and interesting.

I love this casting. Its breaking away from what we already know and see concerning Lex Luthor . Irons will make a great Alfred.

Iron's as Alfred probably should've happened a while ago. That's perfect.

Eisenberg as Lex, huh? Granted Eisenberg is 30, so same age as Cavill, which fits. I think now it'll make Ben stick out like a sore, old, bad acting thumb, but that's just me. But I'm totally down for this actually. Character wise, Jesse has played roles before (Social Network,Wheelhouse) that show he could handle Lex.

I think it would be wise for Jesse to put on some weight/muscle just to look a tad older.

This could be the most Alfred-y Alfred to date though.

    Was Michael Cera not available?

    What the hell.

    Mark Zuckerberg is Lex Luthor.

^^^LOL! That's what I was thinking. May as well have gotten Michael Cera.

This is an epic casting fail. I was originally very optimistic but now I must wonder where exactly Zack's head is.

Affleck's not a bad actor. But whether he's the right fit for this role is an open question.

While Eisenberg has played plenty of intelligent, cocky, and pretentious characters, not once did I find him intimidating or imposing enough to play a character like Lex. He just comes off as an annoying little prick. I'd say he's more like a Toyman than a Lex Luthor.

It's unfortunate that the Bryan Cranston rumors were false. I saw another poster came up with the joke: WB Exec: "Damn it, Snyder, I told you I wanted Heisenberg!"
