Remender might not get the X-Men metaphor, but he sure writes interesting stories.
"That's a very nice school you have here, it'd be a shame if someone dropped some Sentinels on it"

"Or I will kill you both."

Hahaha! Oh Thor, you so funny but seriously Thor is going to get pummeled by Uriel. As for Cap's face...god that looks horrible.

...and it boils down to Thor and Captain America. *grumble*
Why? Just to see the disappointment on your corn-fed, gee-whiz face, Superman. And because a great dark voice on the edge of nothing spoke to me and said you all had to die. There is no 'Why?'

I don't think it boils down to them at all--it's pretty obvious they're going to lose, Earth will be destroyed, and the survivors on the new mutant planet are going to go back in time to try and avert it. This is the mid-point.

(BTW, that's not a diss, I'm loving this series.)

McNiven is kind of a badass.

And I like Remender's storylines, generally speaking, but yeah... X-Men have gotten the short end of the stick in this title.

    Oh, love the cameos.
By Faltine and Ikonn and Dark Valtorr -- By Seraphim, Denak, and Raggadorr -- By Dormammu, Watoomb, and Cyttorak!

I couldn't agree more about McNiven. His work is always amazing, and this is the best he's looked in years. This issue looks awesome. Can't wait to read it.

As for X-Men getting short shrift here, Remender said from the top that this is an Avengers book, but yeah, there weren't even any X-Men in that preview...

Cap disfigured... lots of dead cast members. There's no way this whole thing isn't undone by the end.

All the mutants have been captured and put into stasis on Planet X. I'm sure the all mutant homeworld the next story revolves around will include plenty of X-characters. We already know Havok will be there with his new wife Wasp, Magneto and his new X-Force, etc

So basically Age of Ultron 2: Mutant Boogaloo
Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.

Marvel needs to seriously consider launching an ongoing series called Mutant Boogaloo. I really don't even care what it's about... I'd definitely buy it.

I'm sure Remender will find a way to ruin this like he ruins every other promising moment or issue of this book.

Still, it's a good reminder that Remender writes good action comics. If only he'd stop trying to use his brain.

Just wondering if Death Sentry ultimately gets taken out by a moon worm.
