If I were the editor, I would have moved Medina to the parent title and shifted Petellier to the Others.

All said, I'm expecting middling sales on this book.

But i thought Brett Booth was writing this, based on twitter!

Also, I'm kind of disappointed that Marvel lost both Medina and Eaglesham to DC books I'm not particularly interested in. They would have been fantastic visual complements on any ongoing.

A real shame it's not Ostrander after his great work in developing the team. Jurgens' recent work has been very mediocre, with his Firestorm being a highlight only for its basic competency compared to the previous run.

Would have expected Ostrander for this, but I'll check it out.

    Well hell, I'm disappointed already.

Jurgens better bring some of his best writing in a decade if he wants to deliver something worthwhile. Plus, his name doesn't have any power in terms of sales.

DC's been gestating this for a long time, so there may be some audience for it.
Personally, it's not on my list of ideal 52, but I think it's a good idea worth exploring.

It's been gestating because they're trying to make Aquaman happen, which he did for a while but Aquaman isn't Green Lantern. That relaunch was outrageously successful after and was well supported by multiple events. Aquaman hasn't had that benefit, and for whatever reason hasn't resonated as well long-term. He's still selling well enough, but I would not say well enough to support two ongoings.

I'd rather it was Ostrander, but I'm willing to keep an open mind about this. I normally like Jurgens enough.

    Peace

If nothing else I applaud DC for bringing in a new title about new characters. We've had Talon....I think the Movement are all new characters...fairly sure the Green Team were based on old concepts and characters from the 70's or something. So yeah, The Others is like the third book DC has put out since the reboot with brand new stuff.

Jurgens better bring his A game though. I loved his old stuff in the 90's, but he doesnt seem to have evolved as a story teller. I hope that it works out well. I dont expect great sales from this, but Aquaman is riding a high point right now, the Others have been around for a bit and people seem to like them. We'll see.

I might check this out. I said I likely wouldnt, but if the previews and news are interesting and if word of mouth is positive....well, I want to like this. I want it to be good. I just worry Jurgens' best days are behind him.

I hope Jurgens bring his A-game to this and hopefully some good storylines for the Others as they haven't won me over yet. But good to see Aquaman expanding, perhaps some good adventures with the Others.
