When Amazing Spider-Man #700 came out, I said the storyline would last about a year before Peter came back. And what do you know...

Can't say I didn't try to help by making a thread that didn't have a spoiler title.

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

On the bright side, I know now I have a good idea when I'm jumping off reading comics again.
    Otto Octavius was a hero.

I read comic books not primarily for a lesson on morality but for the simple reason to be hopefully entertained.

    Awesome. I'm in!

Shame that there's no new costume though

Because a #1 would sell more, and is a more appealing jumping on point

don't worry, they'll get to #800 when the time is right

Can Marvel just let Pete be Spider-Man for a while now. Enough with the different Webheads, it's played out.

That being said, hell yeah whoop whoop awoooooooogah!!!!

Plus reading from asm 700 straight to "701" would cause an aneurysm.

Great! Not a moment too soon! I'm looking forward to it and in the meantime I can catch up with the SSM comics I haven't read, from SSM 10 until the Venom arc. This is really good news.

This is literally why I think superheroes dying is an unoriginal gimmick. Peter should have been dead for at LEAST half a decade. It is pathetic. I am interested in what Slott means about it being more than it seems though.

Is it a gimmick if it leads to over a year of interesting, ORIGINAL stories? And if so, who cares?
