This should make some people happy I suppose...
Steve Rogers: You ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?
James Barnes: Hell, no! The little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. I'm following him."

I feel like I should be happy, but this hasn't really stirred any sort of emotion in me. I suppose it was too expected to make me excited? Not overly fond of the cover either... Marvel just can't win :P
Good to have confirmation of where things are headed though

Yeah, it seems almost definite that the Watcher's files -- in whatever format -- reveal what's happened with Peter's body, and the collective MU superhero community (minus the Fantastic Four and X-Men, the two groups with the most important historical connections to Uatu) go "huh, we should fix that." I'm guessing Doctor Strange does the switcheroo and we're all done.

Slott knew when to stop this before it became stale. It was the right choice, and I loved his SSM run.

we'll see what happens. This seems rather abrupt, however. I want to see an actual transition, not a "today Blue Superman, tomorrow regular Superman, voila!" non-explanation.

So is this a reboot or continuation of ASM/Superior. Please don't be a reboot. ASM has been running for as long as Doctor Who but never had a hiatus until Superior. Plus, I've really been looking forward to seeing the aftermath of all of the Superior stuff when Peter Parker regained control of his body.

I think that it would be crazy to have both Spock and Peter. I say that the new ASM is a collection of lost stories. Slott has planted way too many seeds for Spock to use. I wished that Marvel had allowed Superior Spider-Man to last 100 issues which would have made a statement. I wanted to see Spock vs Mayday(Venom) before his story wraps up!!!

So, was this Slott's decision or Marvel's? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Peter is coming back (and I knew this was coming a mile away, since comic characters are generally immune to permanent death as long as they don't have "Ben", "Stacy", or "Wayne" in their names), but I hope that Superior wasn't cut short by editorial mandate or because of continual fan-rage. If Superior Spider-Man is to end, then I hope it's where and when Slott wanted to end it, not anyone else.

Also: taking all bets on Peter's resurrection method!
