    Default PREVIEW: Avengers Assemble, #23

    INHUMANITY TIE-IN!
    • While tracking the toxic Dr. Covington, the education of SPIDER-GIRL takes a horrific turn: she must hero under the tutelage of the THE CURMUDGEONLY AVENGER: WOLVERINE!
    • The INHUMAN that the AVENGERS seek has unique ability--one that, in the wrong hands, could change everything!
    • WARREN ELLIS (AVENGERS: ENDLESS WARTIME) once again joins KELLY SUE DECONNICK (CAPTAIN MARVEL) in a delightfully demented dance through the Avengers roster.

Now that Warren Ellis is helping out with the writing I'm giving this title a try. It does feature one of my favorite characters (Jessica Drew) and last issue was pretty good. So does Spider-Girl have powers or what? I read that she lost them.

Given the events of Spider Island, I think that she does have her powers.

Ohhhhh! Isn't that cute. Somebody thinks that she's the real Spider-Girl. NO! Bad Zagreus! NO! Somebody get me a newspaper to smack him on the nose with. (Yeah. I've got no love for Arana-Girl, the Spectacular Spider-Sham. Terrible, terrible character.)

Anyway, power-wise, Spider-Sham got the standard Spidey powers plus organic webbing during Spider-Island.

It disbanded. Oh Anya, I pity you for having to put up with Wolverine.

that story hasn't been told. i'd be worried for USAgent, though. Barney just became a drifter. and it's weird that Karla would still be m.i.a. where would she even go?

Because DeConnick isn't a big enough name to sell the book.

But she's such a good writer. That's a real shame.

Those interiors are so good. But I wonder what will become of Spider-Girl after this. Kinda sucks Avengers Academy is defunct now.

U.S.Agent was shown to be under Dark Scarlet Witch's control, Skaar showed up in Young Avengers recently, no one knows where Ragnarok and Dark Spiderman went.

Because DeConnick is writing three other books and this is the lowest priority one.

    Ghost just launched.

    Captain Marvel is relaunching.

    Pretty Deadly is creator owned.

I'm pretty sure she's said before that that's a lot of books to work on for her.

If I remember correctly Ragnarok and Moonstone are off exploring the world, and apparently sleeping together to (Moonstone's own words).
