Funny how studios can't even put one Flash Gordon progect together and a takeoff will get made.

Yes! Starlight. That comic that nobody has read and looks like a blatant Flash Gordon rip off is being made into a movie!

    Who cares?

    I do!

Mark Millar and the people at Fox have read the story from the looks of it; and it seems good enough to the latter to desire to turn it into a movie.

Not to mention that it is news about a possible comic-book based movie; and this being a comic-book-focused site it is quite relevant.

Star Wars is a "blatant rip-off" of Flash Gordon as well, and of John Carter! WarCraft is a "blatant rip-off" of Warhammer also. Only they are not. They were inspired by them, and grown up to be their own things. Why can't Starlight possibly be like that?

Why so rude over some news about a possible movie?

I have more problems with the fact that the comic isn't even out yet and they want a movie of it. Just take out the middleman comic and make the movie. That's what's been done since the beginning of movies. Make a script find a producer and make a movie.

They do that with books all the time.

They also put out a whole slew of Flash Gordon serials before that.
