Default Batman: The Dark Knight ends in March

"Batman: The Dark Knight" writer Gregg Hurwitz has announced that the series will conclude with issue #29.

Well, saw this one coming, despite sales, there was just no place for this book with Batman: Eternal coming soon.

In other news... what's with all the writers announcing cancelations, shouldn't DC do this?

i imagine the canellations (Animal man, dark knight) and creative changes (red hood) probably have something to do with the solicitation blanket ban dc is opperating on. if i was to guess, maybe their waiting for forever evil 4?

In my opinion, it had it's moments. I liked the first arc he did with David Finch and Scarecrow, but it eventually got really formulaic, especially when you took the Penguin mini series into account. Classic villain, had bad childhood, fighting Batman in present. Nothing really came from it.

Nah. That issue comes out on Christmas. Tako just told me solicits are hitting tomorrow.

I'm sticking to what I said on Nov 1st:

My prediction is we will see the cancellation of:
    BATWING
    TALON
    BATMAN:DARK KNIGHT
prior to the launch of Batman Eternal.
BUY ALL STAR WESTERN BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

TOP TEN PULLS:ACTION, AQUAMAN, AS WESTERN, BATMAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, FATALE, FF, JL, SUPERMAN, VELVET

It sure took them long enough to cancel this book.
Currently reading She-Hulk, Deadpool, Swamp Thing, Ms. Marvel

Probation: Ghost Rider, Loki: LoA, Secret Avengers

Looking forward to All-New Ultimates, Flash Gordon and Doctor Mirage.

Wow. They are clearing the deck for phase 2. The only way they'd cancel a Batman title would be for a Batman weekly.

DC comes out of it looking better when the writers address their fans personally. DC and Marvel always get lambasted when fans see FINAL ISSUE in the solicits. So much so that they've started doing stealth cancellations. A+X and X-Men Legacy are ending but the solicits doesn't make it look 100% final.

    NOOOO!

This is the second best Batman solo being published right now! GAH! Cancel Batman and... before this! Or how about Batwing! So sad!!!!

I'm loosing Dark Knight and Animal Man. This is so lame!

So this is why they are delaying the solicits: to soften the brunt of all the cancellations by announcing them one by one.
