I think this is so obvious.

Good. Was there any doubt that he wouldn't?

It seemed one of the only certain things to me.......

I kind of wish they'd let somebody else get another shot at it. So far my favorite X-Men films were by Vaughn and Mangold.

Probation: Ghost Rider, Loki: LoA, Secret Avengers

Looking forward to All-New Ultimates, Flash Gordon and Doctor Mirage.

They must be consistently impressed by his pitches.

It helps that he's a producer on the X-films, and not just a director.

    There you have it.
Sadly for Mr Singer he hasn't had the same effect as Nolan, I bet if I ask ten people who directed the recent Batman trilogy and the X-men trilogy, Nolan would be the name.

I thought this seemed kinda obvious, as he was the one who seemingly outed the project.

It also seems like Singer's somewhat depended on the franchise to keep his name out there as a viable director. His recent non-X outings have been less than great, and The Usual Suspects, while fantastic, was almost 20 years ago at this point.

Still, color me intrigued as to how they'll bring a villain like Apocalypse to the big screen. Especially in Fox's somewhat "grounded" X-Men movieverse.
What else can I say but, "I love comics."

I'm guessing they'll dump the Celestial aspect and Apocalypse will just wind up being some ancient supermutant that forces the heroes and villains to band together yet again to triumph.

I have a feeling that they'd be using the title Age of Apocalypse if Marvel hadn't already announced Age of Ultron.

Although I appreciate what Singer has done for the superhero film genre, I would prefer someone new at the wheel. I think the X-Men franchise could benefit from a fresh set of eyes. I'm still disappointed Matthew Vaughn didn't direct DoFP, as his film has been the best in the series.

    "FOOOOOOOOLISH INSECTS!!!" (just had to)

Singer really isn't that great of an action director. I hope he gets a talented AD or somebody to really handle what need to be some awe-inspiring mutant battling against Apoc.

Or Rise of Apocalypse, if not for Batman. But just "Apoaclypse" has a nice punch to it.
