Very simple. Muslims have a bad PR.
Have you heard about the Brotherhood of Muslims?
It disturbingly reminds me of Brotherhood of Mutants.
Unfortunately there are no M-Men, or Allah-Men, who would protect people from extremists.
Okay, I guess that for some people it might be a bad joke (even if it wasn't exactly a joke).
Now, being dead serious.
It's just people talking. They express their concerns the best way they can.
And due to their limited vocabulary and their inability of recognizing their true, real emotions
They fail, that's why the discussion kinda sucks. Blame it on technology, and how it made
people, society more primal. Like "hulk smash" "hulk eats" "hulk bans".
But I am willing to bet that once the book hit the shelves, people will stop whining/talking/being annoying.
And still, I am more than certain that the muslims themselves might not be happy about the book.
Pe Some people are terrified of Muslims, and lack the ability to understand that simple fact, so the fear comes out as hate
Man, this thread is a depressing look into some people's mindset. I do have a question, if this new character WERE NOT a Muslim, would people still be making these arguments? If this were a white teenage girl, would people still be whining about "PC?" The answer is no, this argument only comes up when it's a minority character, which is not cool.
I don't know, I think the support and excitement of fans far at-ways the negative. The "Which female solo series will you be getting" has Ms. Marvel at nearly 50% (more popularity than Elektra, Black Widow and Captain Marvel). It's not all doom and gloom.

HA! It's similar to Stephen Fry tackling issues of homosexuality; the anti-gay people he confronted in Africa were more obsessed with butt-sex than any gay people.
