Which of Neal Gaiman's "Sandman" Stories Is Your All-Time Favorite?

With Neil Gaman and J.H. Williams III's "The Sandman: Overture" #1 arriving in stores this week, CBR was curious as to which Sandman storyline is your all-time favorite?

    Vote on the poll here.

I will never understand the popularity of Season Of Mists...

'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

I went with the Dolls House but I also like Endless Nights as well.

Well, I do suppose it is the most straightforward of them.

I think worlds end is my favorite, followed by the beggining issues of brief lives. Number three on my list would have to be "ramadan", sandman 50.

I voted Brief Lives, though The World's End is close. I love the Procession of Giants.

This is a tough one. I think I'd be tied between "Brief Lives" and "The Kindly Ones" as I love their scope and how they bring thins together. But Barbie is my favorite lead for a Sandman story, so "A Game of You" should be up there. I wonder what happened to Barbie.

I love the World's End Inn and Fables and Reflections. Ramadan, Orpheus, and the Kindly Ones with te story about the man with his flying daughters are big for me too!

Brief Lives is the most emotional for me though. Just love Destruction.

It's certainly "Seasons of Mist", which I guess makes me painfully mainstream, but there it is.

My single favorite issue is issue 54, though. Really heart-wrenchingly beautiful. http://heshouldreallyknowbetter.blog...te-things.html

Colour me confused as to the runaway popularity of Season of Mists too! It's not that I don't like it - but I would consider Brief Lives, A Game of You, The Kindly Ones, and The Wake far more powerful and moving stories so it seems very strange to see SoM running away with it like this.

I ended up voting for Brief Lives. There's so much I love about it - Destruction, Delirium, all the immortals, not to mention the whole Dream/Orpheus meeting which is just devastating, not to mention the gorgeous Jill Thompson/Vince Locke artwork - it just pipped A Game Of You at the post for me.
