    Default Catwoman #24 Preview/Interview/Discussion

It's time! Catwoman vs. The Joker's Daughter deep in the Gotham Underground!

    Full article here.

First page is a lot of recap, but the images are fantastic and grotesque.

Also an interview with Nocenti from the LATimes.

We should get a merit badge for reading that.

Or a nice bottle of vodka.

In all seriousness, this interview wasn't as cringe-inducing as Nocenti's other interviews and the there were some very good questions raised. I just wish there were better answers to them.

As for the preview, "If she's not dead. Hope she can swim. Most cats can't."

    Yes they can?

Everyone has written Catwoman/cats hate water jokes/into their plot lines (except Winick who turned it into a wet pussy one). It's never less goofy than this.

...Why did I even bother to click that link?
Jean Grey : What makes you such a bitch, Emma?

Winick's Catwoman was awesome! I can't stand this drivel.

Whatever. I've enjoyed the last few issues of Nocenti's Catwoman. The underground arc is just so out-there. I dig it.

    Damn that dialogue was cringe-worthy.

Thank you, glad not to be alone. The knee jerk hate it gets is really over the top.

I don't read Catwoman, but I liked the Villain's Month issue, so i went back and bought the first appearance of Joker's Daughter and now I'm getting Catwoman at least through the Gothtopia storyline.
SUPER CRAZY ANIMAL HAND! is coming... now with MIKE ALLRED cover!

Nothing about reading nearly a year of Nocenti's crap is "knee-jerk"

I have no idea how much you have or haven't read but things like people initial reaction to Catbird ("Terrible! She must be fired! Oh, it's Layman's idea?") and the reaction to a live blogger's misquote of her at NYCC certainly are knee jerk reactions. (No disrespect for the blogger. Live blogging is hard, getting an accurate and colorful description of people early in the panel inevitably comes at the expense of later ones. It's just hard giving attention to writing and listening at the same time.)

No, FHIZ is right. A good chunk of the people here who don't like Nocenti's writing are those who have actually read the past year of her run on Catwoman (some others have read her GA run too). That's hardly a "knee jerk" reaction.

Also, catbird is a terrible name no matter who thought it up.

I'm enjoying Catwoman too. It isn't at the top of my pile but I do still get a kick out of it and enjoy it.
