If it wasn't for "Pretty Deadly", this would have been my book of the week. I like the way Brubaker and Epting take the classic Miss Moneypenny type, and shows us that she’s more than a mere secretary to a super secret spy group. The twists and turns in this issue are breathtaking and I like that our hero (if there are any heroes in this book) is an experienced, older woman, and not another brash young hot body. Brubaker has always written complex, interesting female characters. And Velvet Templeton looks to continue that trend. Epting’s art offers a stylish realism, he really brought this world to life.
I like Bond (books and film), "Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy", Brian Freemantle's "Charlie Muffin" series... so this was right up my alley.
As for Lettercol title, it has gotta be "The Velvet Underground" (I'd send that in, but I image Bru's heard that suggestion a hundred times by now)
