The DC relaunch was successful and was executed in what was most likely the best way it could given restrictions we wouldn't know about. No, your idea wouldn't have worked. Now move on.
The only part of the episode I didn't get was why exactly there were chains hanging from the ceiling and Barry pulled on them? Does he work in a castle in the Dark Ages? Was he trying to open a window? The skylight? On a rainy day? That confused me, but I didn't care. It was still thought it was cool.
I found it weird as well, I think he was trying to close the partly open skylight through which it was raining in. Now why he would pick that moment (with a huge explosion and black out going on) to remember to close it is anyother question. Though all in all rather minor issues to raise and I am sure we get another more detailed look at that scene when the actual show starts.
God I friggin loved this episode. Amazjng in so many ways. And... SLADE IS IN THE PRESENT YEAAAAAH. It's one of the most amzing episodes of this. I friggjn love this show
