A shared universe comes with dangers. Part of why Avengers did so well is because Captain America, Iron Man and Thor did so well. What happens when that's not the case? What if Iron Man 2 had been a Green Lantern disaster? But when it all works, it works great. DC has always been a single hero focused company whereas Marvel has always been a group focused company. The Avengers were always Marvel's goal. DC is always wanting that single character to be his/her own franchise. I believe had Marvel screwed up Iron Man 2, the Avengers would still happen. When Green Lantern tanked, it affected any potential talk of Justice League. Maybe Green Lantern failed because it wasn't being set up as a single character franchise but a stepping stone to a group franchise. Whatever the case, I love the idea of DC characters all over television. Even if they're in their own little universe on the same channel, I love having them on television. Arrow, Constantine, Flash, Gotham... hopefully even more. Probably might not ever see anything on ABC but I love these characters on television. Probably more than a film. In fact, better.
