Default X Men getting removed from Netflix

X Men: TAS is being removed from Netflix streaming on July 1! This seems so sudden.

Anybody knows why Netflix is taking it off? X Men: Evolution will be leaving too. Wolverine & the X Men is staying, oddly enough.

I've got to to do an X Men Marathon this Sunday.

In honor of X-Men: TAS, I suggest we all react to this news as the characters from that series would: in the most melodramatic way possible!

    To whit:

NO! For the sake of all X-Fandom, no!

(kind of paraphrased that one from Lilandra in the show, actually).

I still have all the episodes downloaded back from college, but why remove them? It's nice to have them stream if I want.

Well, there's always Youtube I guess.

Or just buy the whole series on DVD.

I recorded all the episodes on video tape as they were being broadcast on Fox 20 years ago up until the last one in 1996/1997...

TAS has been on Netflix for practically a year I'm surprised they haven't cycled out sooner. It'll be back

This is what keeps me from signing up for Netflix. Can anyone give me 1 reason why Netflix would do this?

Because licenses to digital media can be expensive and sometimes, licenses expire and have to be renewed. Netflix instant does this with almost all of its offerings. If you don't like it, buy the dvds, get the dvds by mail with Netflix, or wait for them to come back.

They did the same to Farscape. They took it down without warning or any reason. It was there one day, gone the next. Luckily I have the entire series and the movie ending, but my friend was watching the series on Netflix and was about to start season 3, arguably the best season, when it was removed from live streaming. He was less than thrilled, at the very least.

This is certainly disappointing. I have the 90s X-men cartoon on DVD, but I don't have the Spider-Man cartoon. Plus, having the DVDs doesn't mean you can stream them at any time you want. You basically have to buy them again online through Amazon Prime. For the past few months, Netflix has been losing a lot of my old favorite shows. At the rate they're going, I may just ditch Netflix and switch to Amazon Prime, which picked up a lot of the shows Netflix dropped in recent times.
