I very much doubt you'll be disappointed: DnA construct a team of misfits, a team that by all rights shouldn't work, and you end up caring for every single one of them. One of the best examples of character development, team dynamics, humor, drama and female-portrayals-done-right you'll ever find in a comic book!
Also, if you do end up liking (or loving) the DnA Guardians, do yourself a favor and skip the Bendis series...
Sure! I've nevere thought about it! :P

UNCANNY X-MEN 475 - 486 might also be worth adding, as it's almost entirely cosmic themed, and establishes Vulcan's position in the Shi'ar Empire and introduces the new Starjammers, which directly leads into EMPEROR VULCAN, KINGBREAKER and WAR OF KINGS. Not Brubaker's best comics, but still good.

I'm going to check them! ;)

    NOVA 8 - 15
    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 1 - 3

    X-MEN: EMPEROR VULCAN 1 - 5

    NOVA 16 - 18
    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 4 - 6
    SECRET INVASION: THOR 1 - 3
    SECRET INVASION: INHUMANS 1 - 4

    SECRET INVASION: WAR OF KINGS

SECRET INVASION AFTERMATH: BETA RAY BILL - THE GREEN OF EDEN
    BETA RAY BILL: GODHUNTER 1 - 3

    X-MEN: KINGBREAKER 1 - 4

    NOVA 19 - 22

    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 7 - 17
    NOVA 23 - 28
    WAR OF KINGS: DARKHAWK 1 - 2
    WAR OF KINGS: ASCENSION 1 - 4
    WAR OF KINGS: WARRIORS 1 - 2
    WAR OF KINGS
WAR OF KINGS: WHO WILL RULE?

    NOVA 29 - 31
    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 18 - 19

    REALM OF KINGS
    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 20 - 24
    NOVA 32 - 35
    REALM OF KINGS: INHUMANS 1 - 5
REALM OF KINGS: IMPERIAL GUARD 1 - 5

    NOVA 36
    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 25

    THE THANOS IMPERATIVE: IGNITION
    THE THANOS IMPERATIVE 1 - 6
    THE THANOS IMPERATIVE: DEVESTATION

    ANNIHILATORS 1 - 4

    ANNIHILATORS: EARTHFALL 1 - 4

That should be everything. Not all of it is great -- ANNIHILATION: SUPER SKRULL and ANNIHILATION CONQUEST: WRAITH are both actually kinda bad -- but it's almost everything cosmic Marvel had going on for a number of years. The Beta Ray Bill stuff is only loosely related, though over all it's pretty good. I left out some Son of Hulk tie-ins because they don't actually contribute anything to the stories and really just share the banner.

I think that I'm going to "avoid" X-Men and Avengers Assemble: it's going to be way too much expensive with all these tie-ins. :P

For the 12 issues. And thanos imperative was pretty expensive too. I think the cosmic hype has really lifted the prices on these titles.
You bought them as single issues. That would cost a small fortune.

I've been buying them all as TPBs for the last few years.
I was working my way through them all slowly month by month,
then the Guardians of the Galaxy film was announced.
    The prices soared!
There's a few Nova & one Guardians of the Galaxy TBPs I'll never be able to get now.
    Far to expensive.

The whole DnA cosmic run is amazing though.
    Glad I bought them.

The only thing I really did not like about the DnA run was when they were having Brad Walker and Wes Craig flip flopping back and forth on the art duties. I loved Walker but could not stand Craig's stuff. They were definitly not a good pairing to share the art chores. I almost dropped the book because of it.

Enjoy. I read most of the run when they came out originally & am still lovingly on my second run through. And reading everything this time.

I just read that TPB last week. It is quite jarring to the read.
His art is still pretty good though. Just very different.

Amazing series, don't understand why this (and DnA's other cosmic stuff) isn't all in print as trades or omnibuses. From what we've seen of the Movie's concept art it's all much closer to DnA's version than Bendis..........which is appalling.

I think it is all in trade paper back. I have most of them.
Or do you mean that a lot of the tpbs aren't even being printed anymore?
Resulting in expensive pricing & difficulty getting them.

Omnibuses would have been a much better way to read them.
Maybe they'll release some before the film.
