Lightbulb Deluxe Hardcover of Revival out in October

Just got confirmation from "Revival" writer Tim Seeley that the first hardcover collection of Revival is scheduled for October. Not sure about the contents yet...

He also said that the entire series is expected to run for 50-60 issues so expect lots of "Revival" goodness in the coming years.

I've heard really great things about the series but never read an issue before. How's the story? Artwork? Is it worth investing in? Any suggestions welcome!

12 issue hardcovers are my kryptonite.

Issue your comic in that format and odds are ill eventually pick it up.

Both the art and writing are excellent. Creepy and weird rural noir/horror tale. It's a little bit of a slow paced / slow building type of story so it will read good in collected format.

I have issue #1 and remember being intrigued, but not enough to pick up in issues. Perhaps this hardcover will be nice enough to tempt me..

I'm exactly the same. I wouldn't have even read most of the comics I own if they weren't deluxe hardcovers.

I'll definitely be buying at least the first one of these.

Will be buying this. I bought the first issue and liked it but ended up not being able to get any more issues.

I have to confess to the same feelings. Well, I was going to pick up the trade but I never did.

Thanks. I was looking for a good horror title to collect anyway...

Fantastic news! Revival has been on my wish list for quite some time. It'll be great to have a nice hardcover to read the first couple of issues from. Pre-ordering as well.

I completely agree. I've been reading it monthly, and while I very much enjoy it, sometimes it's juggling too many plot threads to make much progress in any one issue, though some (including the most recent, #10) are far better paced and focused than others. I think a collected format will significantly improve its readability, much like The Walking Dead for me.

I'm also glad to hear Seeley already has a fairly finite idea about when and how his series should end, since the same plethora of characters and stories which weakens some of the issues could spiral the whole series out of control. It's good to know that's very unlikely to happen. Bring it on!

    Decisions.. decisions..

I was thinking of picking up the first trade but maybe I'll just wait till the hardcover, even though I have 6-9.

Maybe there's a chance Hack/Slash will get the hardcover treatment.. or maybe not.

If it's due out in October, we won't see the actual solicitation until next month.
