    Default PREVIEW: X-O Manowar #13

Valiant is proud to present an advance preview of X-O Manowar #13 by the best-selling creative team of Robert Venditti and Cary Nord! Reunited with the remnants of his people on the alien world of Loam, X-O Manowar is about to bring PLANET DEATH to its knees!

As Aric of Dacia grapples with the realization that the Vine aren't the only race on the world he intends to conquer, will his surprise compatriots offer him refuge or rivalry? Meanwhile, the Vine's leaders are about to launch their most devastating attack yet, one that will push the X-O Manowar armor to its limits and beyond.

The stakes are raised and the table is set for the epic battle from which no one - human or Vine - will emerge unchanged when the penultimate chapter of PLANET DEATH arrives in X-O Manowar #13, in stores May 15th!

Cary Nord's art seems a lot better than the previous issues. He might have been trying to find a new style in last issue and he just got it right now.

    I'm excited.

I think I know how this is gonna end, Aric will bring the human survivors back to Earth, thats why he's trying to reclaim the Visigoth lands in issue 15, because these refugees will need their own country.

Hmmmm, I can think of a very real world 60yr+ political situation this sounds similar to.

That would be AWESOME! And the Vine plantains would likely become an enemy to this nation that could really drive stories going forward... interesting. Even mor interesting if that theory of Aric actually being a Vine himself are true.
Looking for artists, know I won't find any. That blows.

The kingdom of Dacia can be similar too Latveria.

I think we were talking Israel, but Latveria is cool too? I suppose if the Vine have an Earth base, that would be the ideal place for Aric to centre his empire. Though Visigoths weren't really emperors, historically. They just knocked stuff down and didn't really hold onto it well. So it'll all be interesting to see play out...

Art does look better, but we are still far from his work on Conan.

Anyone think Aric might get tangled up with Bloodshot or any of the Harbinger kids sometime down the road?? He already had his run-in with Ninjak...

Chatted up Cary on Facebook about the change in the art style for Planet Death and he said:

"Art is always evolving --or mine is (hopefully). Having just started inking my own work for the first time in this arc, there has been a lot of experimentation with different tools and techniques to find what works and what doesn't."

The experimentation is showing in the differences in the art every issue.
I don't think there's a current mainstream American superhero comic book that can touch Hawkeye right now. Brilliant all the way. Entertaining and technically outstanding at the same time.
