Gonna have a bit of a whinge, and then get on with doing what I hafta do.

The store I work in is on the top floor of a three storey building.
On the bottom floor is a foreign currency exchange. Between the bottom of the stairs and the street are two doors. One of them has a keyhole on both sides, and one doesn't.
As a result, if, like tonight, I find myself working late (it's new comics shipment night), and they close the door at the foot of the steps which only has a keyhole on one side, I am trapped, five metres away from the street and blissful freedom.
    However, I can get out.

All I have to do is...

Climb back up two storeys worth of stairs,
    Turn off the alarm,
Climb back down the fire escape, to the alley, and circle round to the front of the building.
    Unlock the first door,
    Unlock the second door,
Climb BACK up two storeys worth of stairs,
    Reactivate the alarm system,
Climb BACK down two storeys worth of stairs.
    Lock the second door.
    Lock the first door.
    And go home.

It's probably the most annoying and needlessly complex way to walk five metres past two doors, both of which I have the keys to, you could imagine.
It is also the LAST thing I want to do after spending the last several hours sorting, pricing, alphabetizing and shelving comics.
Which is why I'm here bitching about it, instead of doing it.

But it's that, or sleeping here.
And I don't have my cuddly monkey and favourite blanky here.

    So...

    *sigh*

    Once more unto the breach.
See you all in the morning.

I hate having to jump through those kinds of hoops for something that should be simple. so I totally sympathise.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

I don't appear to have that one yet. But that's easily remedied.
