She felt at home, unsurprisingly, amongst the trees and lakes. They reminded her of the more peaceful times she enjoyed in Zoaheim, when she wasn't being chased and fighting for her life. Which, admittedly, was much more often than she would have liked.
She came across a bird bath when her stomach growled loudly. Apparently that squirrel did little to quell her hunger.
Luckily, she spotted two birds bathing in the aforementioned bird bath.
With movements swifter than most humans could follow, the birds were snatched up, one of them missing a chunk of its side after she had already bit a piece of it off.
She didn't particularly enjoy the taste of feathers, so she snapped the other's neck and sat down on a bench to skin them.
:Cruz? Screw restaurants and talking, he decides just to keep focus, after the lobby visit. He did the following.:
:Well he went to do varieties of exercise. Mental, physical, he was not a social person. Not, at all.:
:There is only one person he wants to be with, and it's none of the team so far. Sure, Dragon Girl looked pretty. Besides that? No interest in the rest of the females.:
:Still, he was in love with his Dr. Sweet Charlotte, how are you doing right now? That was his thoughts.:
^- Chou's site. It's all about fun.
... I need to make conversation? She decided. Then came the matter of finding something to start a conversation with, which had her completely stumped.
I could start with the... weather? No. Ask about back home in Elyss maybe? ... Guh. She sighed internally. That's all meaningless filler shit, isn't it? ... Damn it all.
When the wind kicked up, she really got a look at Wen's tattoo's... and her entire backside. And it kind of- but not really- clicked. Asking about the tattoo's didn't seem like it'd be too rude, and it was a better conversation starter than; "weather's nice today, y'know."
She cleared her throat.
<Ashi> "So uh, Wen... I couldn't help but notice the new dress," and your panties, "and the tattoo's." She paused. "They're really beautiful... but uh.. what do they mean..?"
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... They're still beautiful." She paused. Elyss wasn't kind to people who were different. And the thoughts of what might've happened to her simply because she had the tattoo's was enough to upset her visibly. So she understood why the girl had hidden them back home. But that didn't mean she didn't like hearing that she had. "But... I'm glad you're not covering them up now... they're much too beautiful to be hidden away... and they're a part of you... you shouldn't have to.. hide that."
"But uh... your mother. Is she a Phoenix, as well?"
And the comments about the Thunderbird were intriguing to say the least. She'd never once heard of a Thunderbird, her father had told her many myths growing up, but had never mentioned one. Which was curious.
"Hm... Thunderbird... and yeah... sounds right..." She smiled softly. "I wonder.. is there is anything at the Antique place?" She asked, knowing Wen had already been there herself.
OOC: NP man, happens to everybody.OOC: Epic comprehension fail on my part. :| Thanks.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. Fighting too long leaves it's mark on you, and I was lucky to get out of the service before it got to me. Still, as long as they are willing to watch my back in the midst of stuff like the insanity we faced in that mountain I'll give them the benefit of the doubt."IC: He nodded as the softskin introduced himself, and considered Roland's observation regarding him.
"Polite? No, just not interested in 'making trouble'. Most of the team are just mercs used to going solo. Bad with company."
It was true that despite not being a man of many words, Huorn considered himself fairly polite by the standards of his kind. People in the small tribes in the jungle hells saw each other as one extended family and rarely needed or had the luxury of adding words of 'politeness' to their sentences. They just needed to show respect for their betters, and a good smack on the head would remind them that. Only in larger villages such as his, where relationships were more tenuous and involved interaction with other tribes did people have to really bother with niceties.
He highly doubted he was polite by human standards though. From what he understood, humans had more complex notions of etiquette. Came with the nature of their massively interconnected society, he supposed. Just more of their strangeness.
Still, he wasn't surprised that Roland found his companions rude; Clakim was dismissive of softskins at best, and the Snearson softie was simply annoying by nature.
Making his way to the table the softskin had chosen for them, he gingerly lowered his weight onto the chair.
"Did you live here once?" He asked Roland as he sat down.
Roland ate a bit as he was thinking about the past, "My folks had a place up in the mountains near here, so they'd let me stay with a friend's family for a few weeks now and again. Back then it was more fun to run around, pig out on unhealthy food, and thumb our noses at what we thought at the time were boring older folks who always ruined our fun. Of course that's before we moved to the big city and I learned the hard way that some people aren't good to hang out with, no matter how cool they are."
OOC: TO Hazard, Sandy and Sol - Ya'll want to have the fight here, or head off to the Vulture early?

Hey! No one's asking you to smell it.
She didn't understand.
The clothes looked nice, sure. But she could never get the big deal when it came to clothes. Why would a person cover themselves when they could be walking around as they were at birth.
And they didn't feel very comfortable, either. They were too tight and the tops constricted her breasts too much.
At least the things Kieran gave her stretched enough too fight, but they were still tight fitting.
She sighed and casually perused the racks as the smaller humans all looked at her and whispered amongst themselves. Something about how her hair looked show shiny and awesome her tattoos looked.
She shrugged and walked out, continuing her trek down the shopping district.
