This is so ridiculous, Apple needs to grow up. For real.

It's the same thing with an R rated movie, every now and then, an actor shows his junk, but you're never seeing someone giving an unobscured blow job.
But in one of the later there's the walk down a sex district where you see numerous people clearly having sex, a dominatrix whipping a pyramid of naked men with (at least) semi-erect penises and so on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Love & Rockets and Strangers in Paradise show fairly explicit sex? They're both on ComiXology. And even if they didn't, you're not correct. I can confirm that Black Kiss II is on ComiXology, as is Sex.

Hahaha - I think it might be more offensive to the gay community that a robot is 'on the fritz' and the porn that shows up on it is male-to-male homosexual, but whatevs. Good stuff tho.

I have no problem with it personally. But I can see, particularly looking at the second image where it appears someone is catching a bukkake cum bath facial, why Apple might have said "Whoah, no." Should BKV censor his story? Heck no. But I don't think it was homophobia that saw the book dropped from Apple. I think it has more to do with the two images of hardcore sucking and a facial bath.

I'd like to know how these tiny, 'postage stamp sized' images in any way advance the plot, or what story content BKV thinks is being communicated by including them. What exactly are they there for? Why are these images important to the story?

Does every female superhero having inhuman, Nicki Minaj-esque bodies advance the story in some way? Put a "mature content" warning on it and let people decide for themselves whether they should see something, rather than arbitarily mandate it. I know there's numerous ways to see the comic outside of the app, but that's beside the point.

Apple's speedy transition from trendy, open-source darlings to draconian, white-collared pricks has been fascinating to watch.

Transition? They've had content regulations for years. I'm surprised it took a bukkake scene for people to notice.

They've never been open source. Apple have always had one of most regulated, closed networked setups in the business. Microsoft are actually a lot more open access which may surprise some people.

I'm talking well before that - basically from the OS X/iPod beginnings in 2001 up to now. I know a few folks in the app development business and, yeah, the content regulations are most certainly nothing new, but if only Apple were so diligent with apps that take advantage of questionable microtransactions...

There's only so much they can do with the thousands of apps or other items that people sell through iTunes on a daily basis. This issue of Saga would have slipped by if the sex scene wasn't in the preview images.

It was easy for Apple to be lax with content back when Apple only had a niche audience.

How incredibly embarrassing and hypocritical for Apple. Wow.

VIZ Media and other Manga publishers have been unable to release a large quantity of Mature Readers Manga material due to Apple's hardass behavoir. So believe me, I know this is nothing new. Doesn't make it any less absurd and arbitrary.

Put your rainbow flag away boys and 'girls'. Any explicit sexual scene is banned by Apple, whether it's two men or two tv-headed robots. Explicit penetration is explicit penetration.

And, YES, hardcore and explicit oral sex is porn. Even late night cable only hints at it. If you need porn that bad, get it from someone other than Apple. They don't sell porn. Get over it.

Quit pretending that this is 'art'. It's a mildly interesting Farscape riff, that uses pooping and now explicit sex for shock value. BKV is free to do this, even if he wants to pretend that he's an 'artiest'. He's every bit the shock jock as Howard Stern and his hottest lesbian dwarf contests. Of course Stern has the sack to admit it.
