Last night our family watched Superman Returns and we were pretty much bummed out that DC Comics has seemingly abandoned the untapped potential in the story of Superman's son Jason. It's also really upsetting that we don't get to see what was going to become of the Neo Krypton that Kal-El flew into orbit upon Earth before plummeting back to Earth near the gates of death due to his prolonged exposure to the extreme amounts of Kryptonite. There is truly so much untapped potential that was established towards the end of Superman Returns that it's plain upsetting.
I highly doubt if Zack Snyder will return to these elements in his Man of Steel Trilogy but I definitely hope that instead of focusing solely on Lex Luthor that he will turn the spotlight on the new villain H'el because I really like what we witnessed in the H'el On Earth arc which spanned the excellent New 52 issues of Superman, Supergirl and Superboy. There is a lot of info online that indicates that Zack Snyder was going to focus on Brainiac in the Superman Returns sequel. I also wonder if Zack Snyder will feature Supergirl or Superboy in his Trilogy?
