Based on how the Marvel/Miracleman question got answered, it sounds as if the character will be coming to the Marvel Universe.

I hope that's just a slip— would much prefer the character live in his own universe. On the other hand, I think there's a real possibility of multiple versions of the character. A 616-friendly version, and a MAX-ish version where the Moore/Gaiman series basically continues...

I've been assuming that the field of vision his mask provides is larger than the X shape...so some black areas also must be transparent, like sunglasses?

Yeah. I think Immonen slipped up there. It's not a Ruby Quartz lens any more. It's more like a Ruby Quartz mesh, maybe? It should look more like a helmet than it does.

Also, that Thor reaction panel is caption worthy.
