Welcome to the bottom, folks! I'm definitely dropping Action after today's issue.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.
aaaaaaahahahahahahah
My God, DC is such a complete and utter mess right now that I can't really do anything but sit back and laugh. This is just a joke. And Tony Daniel back on writing? It does not get any better.
And naturally, it's due to editorial douchebaggery yet again. What a surprise.
LOL!
I'm so glad I'm done reading the New 52 after Batman Inc. ends. It's just a fucking mess.
I'll miss Dial H, I guess, but that'll probably be cancelled soon too.
Daniel can't write to save his life.
Put him on a book with a good writer, create a superstar team, and count the money flowing in.
He's writing? Dropped from the pull list.
Tony Daniel is back gentlemen! Hope he has worked out the erotica esque approach to his writing.
Honestly, at this point, I won't pick up any DC book not written by Johns, Snyder, Azz, and maybe Lemire. With no co-writing gigs. It's not just because I generally know the quality I''l get with those writers, but because they have enough clout with DC not to be subject to editorial nonsense and switcharoos.
I really just can't pick up a DC book with a promising new talent for the company, nor can I pick up a book based on character....because who knows what's going to happen to it after it's been solicited?
Oh boy! He can bring his wonderful writing from Detective Comics to Action Comics now! And after all of that we can have John Layman start on Action Comics later to rescue it.
I'm a huge fan of DC comics and have defended the current management team in the past but this is insulting. Even if he isn't my favorite writer, Andy Diggle is complete pro. He did his best to manage the mess that was Shadowland for Marvel and the situation here is so bad that he couldn't stay around long enough to get one issue in print. At some point you can't justify financially supporting a company run like this.
This is...just sad. I want to be mad...but I don't know, I guess it's not worth it.
I will say this though, Action is getting dropped today. Not even going to bother with Diggle's issues anymore, which is sad because I was really looking forward to his run on the title. DC however, does not deserve my money. I will be taking a hard look at the few remaining DC titles I have, and decide on whether I want to continue to support this train wreck.
