Nintendo owns the handheld market

and I like Nintendo just fine, I just don't put them on the same ground with Xbox and Playstation....they did outsell because its a cheaper console and they appealed to a wider, casual audience

the company is going to make money BUT its reputation has taken a big hit because developers and gamers just don't take them seriously anymore

But it didn't hurt the wii after the n64 when the same thing happened.

and I would agree on that as well....but they need a title or titles that will move consoles and generate buzz

the console sales are low even for Nintendo. which means hardcore fans haven't even bought enough of them. which leads me to believe they'll turn up when their fav titles show up. but i do think Nintendo probably needs to be more western friendly whether hardcore Nintendo fans like it or not. they need to build more relationships with third party western developers. although EA can go to hell for all i care.

BTW the current rumour on one of Retro's projects ( allegedly there are more than one to be announced soon) is that its a spiritual sequel to Perfect dark. Apparently they were recording gunshots for sound testing recently.
