The whole "Flash is possessed by a demon too" aspect is just dead weight. The symbiote alone could be causing all the drama needed, but it feels like its just taking a back seat.
I love this book. While it took a few issues post-Remender for Bunn to find his own groove with Venom, I think the book is in excellent shape again. It tends to get the least love of all the Spider-verse titles right now but I'm loving Flash's new status quo and the new supporting cast that's being introduced and the impending throwdown between Flash and Brock looks to be epic. I also think that Declan Shalvey doesn't get nearly enough love. I think his art is on par with the best that's out there right now and he's a perfect fit for Venom.
This is awesome. I really can't articulate just how excited I am over this new Venom arc. I love the Venom comic until this point, and a throw-down between Flash and Eddie is just so exciting! I am kinda excited. Okay, more than kinda.
I would largely agree. I thought Remender was perfect for this book and was bummed when he was taken off (especially since his Cap work is just so-so right now). I then really hated Bunn's initial run and was about to drop the title but I found issues #30-32 so much better and a lot closer to Remender's style so I am on board again. I like Shalvey but not ready to rank him among the best just yet. Still, as I said, I am back on board and the new Philly status quo and supporting cast should inject some new excitement into the book.

The Shadow, 2008
I do think Shavely is underrated as an artist. In particular, he puts out some great covers.
I'm still disappointed with the route they took with both Eddie and Toxin.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
Two things, 1. Venom being possessed by a demon and them calling it a "passenger" ala Dexter seems kinda lame. 2. I thought Toxin was rocking the classic Eddie Brock style spider on his chest? What happened?
3. The art looks good. That panel with the parts of a gun coming out of Venoms arm and the symbiote tendrils assembling it is aces

Don't worry.
My brother and sister of the atom.
We are the X-men, and we stand together
So, Flash/Agent Venom...is possessed by a demon. Eddie Brock, who last I read, had manifested his own identity as Anti-Venom....is now Toxin. While the name Anti-Venom is shudder worthy, I liked the direction Eddie was taking with his new powers and outlook, am I correct in assuming that all of that is being ignored?
It's not being ignored.
1) Eddie basically burned out Anti-Venom during Spider Island when they needed to make a cure.
2) He's still trying to get rid of the Venom symbiote, just in a more direct manner.
As for becoming Toxin, blame Remender for that one. He killed the former host off panel. Actually, you can blame Remender for number two as well.

So, one thing I'm confused about, is it Flash who's possessed by the demon or the symbiote?
Superior Spider-Man, Avenging Spider-Man, Venom, Scarlet Spider
I am very weary of any and all things symbiote-related. I'm just done. Who's going to get 'bonded' next: MJ, Aunt May?
The fact that Flash has both a demon and the Venom suite is overkill and Eddie as Toxin I just want to know what the hell was wrong with Patrick Mulligan I thought the guy was fine as Toxin.
